If those who live there don't like that the big ass church that they have there have been turned in to a huge skateboard park, then that's their problem.

But must of all would I probably declare war with USA, Israel, India, Pakistan, Russia and other coutnries with either nucelar and/or other dangerous weapons. to just see what they would do.

Um... you know the Vatican has no army right? The worst they could do is piggy back off the italians, which isn't much of a threat in it's self.

I do know that. Why would it matter if the vatican had any weapons? Is there any law saying you need weapon to clear war?

Indeed... and with a good billion people under your control... why the hell would you need weapons?

The Swiss Guard are responsibly for protecting the Vatican, that's correct.

I would announce plans to auction off the various treasures and artifacts in posession of the church, as well as plans to sell off real estate, which the goal of sending that money to fight AIDS in Africa.

Decree condoms are ok.
This would one act would save millions from becoming diseased and prevent millions more from being born in impoverished countries.

Seriously?

I'll assume that I'd want to protect and build the church.

So : (1)Allow the ordination of women.

(2) Abolish celibacy of the clergy

(3) Call The Third Vatican Council*,which would discuss : Homosexuality. A strategy to attract youth to the Church, possibly through building and promotion of a Catholic charismatic movement. Church attitude to combating AIDS.

Setting up mandatory church wide insurance company to cope with priests being sued.

Very detailed.. I like your proposal. How about the enormous funding you'd have as the pope, charity-wise?

CHARITY? I thought I was meant to be POPE? IE Autocratic Ruler and CEO of the world's smallest state and largest corporation, with my own private jet and the greatest art collection on the planet.

Our policy on charity would remain unchanged. After all,"God helps those who help themselves" and "Suffering is good for the soul." Angel Cloud

This may be before your time: If you can get hold of it,have a look at the book or film."The Shoes Of The Fisherman" -an entire generation of Catholic Youth thought the premise was just dandy. The church was horrified.
