Why do I keep getting ignored?
I don't think my questions are that tough. Quote:I do not disagree with what Frankie said. "That the same blood washes the sins of the atheist away as it does for the believer." The only question then becomes, does the Atheist accept what Has been done for him? What has been done for "the Atheist", Drich? RE: Pope Francis defends atheists

What has been done for the atheist is nothing actual. But you know that imaginary wonderful place the Christians created, the one with the "No Heathens Allowed" sign? Well the pope has taken that sign down off of his imaginary special place and is now willing to entertain the notion that the god he serves/conceives will consider the merits of each individual when deciding who to let into the special imaginary place. Drich seems to be saying whether we actually are to benefit or not depends on whether we accept what has been done for us. Now that the imaginary do-not-enter sign has been removed from the imaginary door to the imaginary place, will we accept this gift respectfully or just go on calling them a bunch of wankers. I'm kind of on the fence. I am appreciative since with gifts, it's really the thought that counts. I just haven't the heart to point out they're still wanking. Do you? The point I was trying to make in the beginning was that even if all your sins have been forgiven there is still a choice to be made. Do you want to spend eternity with God or not. Only those who love God with all of their being can say yes to this question. So even if you technically qualify for heaven would you really want to go? In Christ's time a slave and a son could live and share the same work under the same roof under nearly identical conditions. But at the end of the day the slave remained a slave and the son had claim to his fathers house. Meaning if you went to heaven and did not love God as a son, then you will view God and all that he has for you to do as a slave owner and yourself a slave... Just like lucifer and his followers did. Realistically at some point they knew their rebellion was hopeless, and yet chose literal hell over serving God for an eternity. So again even if your sins as an atheist are forgiven, as the pope indicated, wouldn't your current theological stance keep you from entering heaven as a "son" of the living God? Are you willing to 'slave' along side the sons of God with no claim to your Father's inheritance? (I am thinking of 4 verses that support this assertion if you want to see them) the first three describe the rewards of the faithful, banking our work here for future reward, and the verse where Jesus describes those of us who enter heaven literally smoldering from the fires of hell. Where they enter with nothing more than their souls intact. Who knows how it would play out when we actually get there, but as I understand it the faithful will be getting mansions. If I were a smolder-er it would be hard for me to see myself as a 'son' if all my brothers had mansions, and I lived in a heavenly homeless shelter. |
