Why do Children not Have Human Rights?

Why do Children not Have Human Rights?
It is completely disgusting how children are treated in society, for the most part they are herded around like livestock by government and religion. They are seldom consulted for preferences and their desires are rarely, if ever met.

Government schools are inherently abusive to children, because they forcibly take hostage of children and indoctrinate them to obey hierarchies. Government schools teach you to obey orders, not to question, not to work for yourself, but always to follow what the 'teachers' say, what the authority says- but never what the authority does.

Imagine if we had 'schools' for women? were we forcibly send women to for 12 some years of their life to become 'educated'? If you apply the treatment of children to any other group, the immorality becomes evident immediately.

Children are also not allowed to work. It is completely immoral, if children want to have a job, they should be allowed. Imagine if we did not let allow blacks to work, or women to work.

Take for example, hitting children. It is still actually legal in most countries for parents to hit their children. Can you imagine if someone tried to pass a law to allow people to legally hit any other group of people? It is morally repulsive how children are just pushed around, attacked, and punished like elaborate pets. But then again, people freak out more to someone hitting a dog than they do a child. I find society completely wretched for this reason.

Why the hell do children not have human rights?

That's because children are like animals. Unlike women or blacks, they can't figure out what's best for them, they can't be rational enough to take care of themselves and they are not capable of living in society like humans. If we loosen the leash, they'd just run around like wild animals. Which is why they need to be domesticated for 18 years before they are let loose on the society - and in some cases, it should be longer.

No that's not true! Children are born rational creatures, curious of the world. People like you beat it out of them.

You are just ageist, working against the progress of humanity.

Bullshit. They don't even know how logic works and believe all sorts of crazy, irrational stuff. People like me have to beat the rationality into them.

Someone wants children to work in his sweatshop.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

People like you Koolay are the biggest point one can make why there should most definitely be mandatory education for all.

What, did daddy diddle you even if you said no? Under what rock did you grow up?

Oh, another memo I and many of my classmates missed.

Riiight, because there's no difference between an adult and a child, such as need for sleep during 24h, education and development of the ability to process information.

You moron. It's legal because there's no law against it, you should be ranting about making a change in the laws of said countries instead of ridiculing yourself by saying that it has anything to do with passing a law regarding corporal punishment.

Because you are an asshole. It's all your fault.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Who the hell would insure a business which hired child labor?

Now I get it. He's channeling Newt Gingrich.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/11/21...05178.html

Quote:Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich called child labor laws "stupid" Friday in an appearance at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government.

"It is tragic what we do in the poorest neighborhoods, entrapping children in, first of all, child laws, which are truly stupid," said the former House speaker, according to CNN. "Most of these schools ought to get rid of the unionized janitors, have one master janitor and pay local students to take care of the school.

And while dey wuz moppin' de floors dey not hafta worry about no book learning.

Asshole.

RE: Why do Children not Have Human Rights?
Children are not granted all of the rights and privileges that adults have because until a certain maturity level is reached, they are not capable of making informed, rational decisions. We also don't hold them accountable for their actions the same way we do with adults - rather, in most cases, their parents/guardians are ultimately responsible, and are given some latitude in determining the best way to discipline the children under their care.

The restrictions places upon children are to protect them from aspects of adult life that they are not equipped to handle, and to prevent unscrupulous assholes from exploiting them.

Are there some inequities? Yes. If you want to change that, advocate for change, and if enough of society agrees with you, change will come.

Otherwise, if you don't fucking like it, start your own goddamn country. Don't be surprised when few civilized people want to live there, though.

P.S. It's my opinion that the OP is either a Poe, or about the most clueless Libertarian I have ever encountered. I'm actually sympathetic to many of the features of social small-L libertarianism, and it's my opinion that people like the OP do their cause more harm than good (hence, why I think it's likely he's a Poe).

P.P.S. Sod off, wanker.
