Why Should Someone Be an Atheist?

Since something can't come from nothing and infinite regress is impossible, nature needs a cause outside of itself, outside of time and space being uncreated whom we call God.

Why can't something come from nothing? 2. Why is infinite regress impossible? 3. Define "outside of nature". 4. Show that something "outside of nature" is required. 5. Define "uncreated" 6. Show that this entire thing is the christian god. Congratulations! You just proved the Islamic god. Take your shoes off and make yourself comfortable. (December 23, 2013 at 3:59 pm)savedwheat Wrote: Since something can't come from nothingOh really? What if "nothing" doesn't exist? (December 23, 2013 at 3:59 pm)savedwheat Wrote: and infinite regress is impossible,Is it?... why? 2nd law of thermodynamics? This law only applies to the known matter in our known universe... It can't say anything about what happens elsewhere. Why use the loaded term "god"? (December 23, 2013 at 5:51 am)Jacob(smooth) Wrote: Read rule 1. This. Mod Hat ON @ RE: Why Should Someone Be an Atheist?

You've contradicted yourself. If your version of god is outside of time and space, how do you know? And if you retort by saying that you 'observe nature', then by definition your version of god must have an interaction inside time and space, meaning you can see it. Congrats on creating an irresolvable conundrum for yourself what god is it you worship again? Allah? Vishnu? I forgot already. Love atheistforums.org? On another note, your basic description of a god here could also apply to the singularity.
It existed 'outside space.' It also existed 'before' time, so is also 'outside time.' All hail Singulos! |
