That's my experience here in NC. You see people's heads stayed fixed on a target and they don't realize they're drifting out of the lane they were in until someone blasts them with the horn.

I actually wrecked my first vehicle because I was distracted and drove off the road. It was wet, too, so I hydroplaned into a telephone pole.

Quote:Putting crosses on the side of the road where someone died is, I've heard, a practice that is common in Mexico. As more Mexicans immigrate to the US it's becoming more common here. In Texas I see them all the time.

Seems to me that they don't drive fast enough to kill themselves.

Actually, in Mexico, they build little shrines alongside the road. I understand wanting to remember a dead loved one, but why do you have to do it in the exact spot they died? Why not build a shrine to them in your back yard?
Christian apologetics is the art of rolling a dog turd in sugar and selling it as a donut.

This reminds me an old joke about a shepherd that was doing his business and withnessed a road accident. The police came to him and said:
-"you've seen the accident? What can you tell us about it?"
-"sure officer, you see that tree on the side of the road?"
-"Yes."
-"They haven't!"
