That's my experience here in NC. You see people's heads stayed fixed on a target and they don't realize they're drifting out of the lane they were in until someone blasts them with the horn.

Putting crosses on the side of the road where someone died is, I've heard, a practice that is common in Mexico. As more Mexicans immigrate to the US it's becoming more common here. In Texas I see them all the time.

Seems to me that they don't drive fast enough to kill themselves.

Actually, in Mexico, they build little shrines alongside the road. I understand wanting to remember a dead loved one, but why do you have to do it in the exact spot they died? Why not build a shrine to them in your back yard?
