It also built a shrine around the notion of chastity elevating ''virgins'' above others. Which is why the Catholic Church is quite fucked up, because it preaches that sex is not a natural thing, but rather a sinful thing. (outside of marriage, and only if it is ''ordered'' towards procreation)
Aside from the absurdity of an immortal being ''making himself'' mortal...lol
YEs I know there is a lot of bullshit and fairy tales out there. Human beings are liars. However I believe that the Guadalupe tilma is miraculous because repeatedly it has been scientifically studied and there is no way to reproduce it or to find evidence of whether or not it could have been painted and there aren't other images like that where there can be found no trace of how the artist created it..
The cactus fiber should have decomposed hundreds of years ago. AntiCatholics put a bomb in a vase in front of the image which blew up everything around it and bent the crucifix all to hell but the image was unscathed.
THe miracle of Fatima was prophecied in advance. 70,000 people showed up, many of them being atheist (Portugal was communist and had a very antiReligious government)...yet these people that showed up to mock the event wrote about it in the secular newspapers. THe media was there as well.
THe prophecies that the seers made about world war two and Russia came true.
At Lourdes France there is a Medical Bureau made up of Doctors who often have no Religious persuasion who want these conditions, medical documents that the pilgrim has an incurable malady, instantaneous cures, complete (not partial) cures, cures that cannot be scientifically or medically explained, and the person must not relapse in a year.
If these requirements have been met the miracle gets the term "Certified" Miracle. THere have been many. I'm not so arrogant as to say all this shit isn't true. Who the fuck am I to say that?

So, God shows himself to a select few, in the form of visions and such, but allows 9/11 to happen, the Holocaust to happen, little kids to die from cancer, domestic abuse etc...etc....
Maybe God should perform some ''miracles'' that actually matter -- maybe people would believe in miracles, then.

You are a miracle!
Yes my dear. That is what pisses me off about GOd. He doesn't have to and he chooses not to. Damn! Sucks to be human beings.

The Mother Of God kicked ass at the battle of Lepanto.

Why all the mockery of the BVM. What did she ever do to you?

She made up a cockamamy story to pretend to still be a virgin, and as a ill chanced result thinking people had to put up with mentally blighted morons who were dim enough to believe her (are you one of them?) for the next 2000 years.

How come "Paul" doesn't know anything about this "virgin birth" horseshit?

Well If I strongly believed such things to be true I wouldn't be lukewarm, perverted, proud, selfish, angry, covetouss, envious, lazy, gluttonous, cowardice, hateful, blasphemous, and despairing. My deplorable and immoral behavior speaks volumes about how strongly I believe that the Bible is reliable or that I'm capable of understanding it. Nadda! Zip!
Do I know it to be bullshit? Not at all. Have I studied miracles like Fatima, Lourdes, Guadalupe, and have proffessionals confirmed that something miraculous had taken place? Yes.
Do I know better than the proffessionals? Do I really have the wisdom to make such a call with certainty?
Is there a God? I wouldn't be surprised. Could he choose to come out of a Virgin's pussy?
Oh yes!
IF there is an all powerful God, does he have to intervene?
No, not at all. He can do whatever the fuck he wants to including watch us get fucked in the ass for his amusement.
My hope is that God is not that way.

WHere does it say paul didn't know anything about a Virgin Birth?
The Bible also doesn't say if Paul knew he was heterosexual.
