Wyrd of Gawd
**** Religious Views: atheist Just sayin'.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.
So what would have happened if they hadn't?

It had little to do with the free will of the Romans, God knew their fears and thirst for control. It had more to do with the Jewish leaders and their hardened hearts for the law and their own self interest (pride). God knew they would demand Jesus death and He knew the control they had over the people in Jerusalem. Christ told the Jewish leaders that even all the healing and other miracles they saw, could not soften their hearts and cause them to believe, they wanted Moses law over salvation for their souls. I think this is asking too much from the idiot that required front doors to be painted in blood because he couldn't tell the difference between his chosen people and Egyptians. To chime in here, isn't this god "all knowing". Many times in the bible he seems to be clue-less.
Many times in the bible he seems to be a complete schmuck.

It's called a hypothetical. Read the OP for further details. I left a clue there.
