Not really, breaking points lead to conflict, and in my opinion, conflict is not good.

How would there ever be progress without conflict?!
Morality is a human condition. Instincts are another condition which extend across a diverse range of conscious life forms. Argument is clearly a good thing for sorting out differences. There is negative argument and positive argument. Controlled and uncontrolled. If arguing to come to an agreement together on a point of difference, then constructive; in order to 'win'/defeat another person, then maybe destructive. Like my latest revelation/epiphany? it goes: The Theoretical construct of "god exists" holds no validity by any means used to test a theoretical construct - except, that on the last criteria - "usefulness" and not in the interactional process usu' measured against this, but in the purpose it serves to those whom belief gives some emotional comfort, and psychological release from difficult to handle/answer questions. Having a constructive debate and having a conflict are two differnet things. One leads to solutions the other leads to (for the lack of a better word) bad things.
It is strange you think we can not have progress without conflict. What a very interesting thing to say. This is one human instict that many people need to take a long deep look at! RE: Is our planet is doomed?

??? They are both conflict. However, 'constructive debate' is a conflict many of us find to be 'positive'... whereas beating one's wife is a conflict many of us find to be 'positive'
Interpretations of how 'positive' or 'negative' a conflict is are entirely subjective Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam

Technically you are correct, but there are many different meanings to word 'conflict' and the context in which you are using it.
Conflict stems from tension of any sort, differences in opinion, differential differences with electricity, or any resisting force such as that of typing! Conflict builds strength in an argument because its weaknesses are subject of attack.
If religion were a living creature I should have thought natural selection would have let it die well before the enlightenment. Apparently, it's just more evidence that human life is on the course for natural selection to take its toll. Human life is likely to die out through this process and lack of changing habits will be the prominent factor. Coming soon: Banner image-link to new anti-islam forum.
So what would be the next logical step for humans then?
