RE: Christians. Could you be wrong?
May I suggest Raptor Jesus, who I believe in because my live would be unbearably unscaly without him.

Good one, Carm. We both know exactly how 'open minded' you are.

It would be nice (and honest), from this point onwards, if you did not refer to yourself as being open minded, nor that you care about the truth.

If you were open minded, like the vast majority of atheists, you would be open to alter your beliefs if presented with evidence.

If you cared about the truth, you'd base your beliefs on evidence, not faith.
Okay, I won't say I am open minded or anything like it.

Sorry if this offended you, I didn't mean to.

No offense taken.

I pointed that out so you could understand that you are not being intellectually honest with yourself.

I was hoping you'd understand our point.

We are all pretty familiar with the (usually subconscious) dishonesty of theists.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.
