I have suggested to you that you live out your faith here - show it more, and preach less. By preaching I simply mean that when you state a belief over and over, it does nothing to support that belief, whereas, actions based upon those beliefs will go much further toward a clearer representation of the same.

ShaMan the problem with me explaining my beliefs is that all my evidence is from he Bible.
I have came up of one point why it is important that Exodus is literal. During the transfiguratio Moses appears, but if exodus didn't happen then why does he appear, without exodus we have no reasons to believe Moses esisted even though he is mentioned throughout the Bible. The wording of the question has confused me I am not sure if it supposed to have a 'in' between the 'and' and 'reality' or is he reality mistyped and supposed to read really. It changes the question.
Well, consider what the bible says in Exodus, then consider the archeological yield. They are in direct conflict. So we have Bible vs. Reality. When you claim that everything in the bible is "literally true", are you also willing to claim reality is false?
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:
"I don't hang around with mostly men because I'm gay. It's because men are better than women. Better trained, better equipped...better. Just better! I'm not gay." For context, this is the previous verse: "Hi Jesus" -robvalue Quote:Furthermore, one should not expect to find extrabiblical texts regarding Israel’s stay and departure from Egypt, because the story is negative about Egypt. Egyptian texts are quite propagandistic and such a defeat would not mention such a defeat."In that case, wouldn't they have left in the part where they conquered the Israelites and made them slaves for four hundred years? I can understand that a powerful empire would ignore or whitewash negative history, but wouldn't they have had a great amount of evidence that they had kept these slaves for centuries?
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
-Stephen Jay Gould
No I am just stated there may be more than one reason for his 'evidence' not being there.

C4, the hebrew masses having never wandered the desert ala exodus doesn't do anything to the ten commandments. If I told you that the ten commandments were written yesterday by a parakeet, you'd still think they were good commandments, wouldn't you?
You aren't part of the jewish temple, you're a christian. What on earth could the exodus myth have to say about Christ? So what if moses didn't appear, or there was no moses? People can't embellish the truth? -and so what if there wasn't a single word in the entirety of the bible that was true? It would all be rendered meaningless? That's the only value the narrative has, to you?
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Ah, it's worth another shot, I guess. If it proves useless we can move on and away from a lost cause. Try to look beyond the literal words, and pray to Christ for enlightenment of His Truth. |
