Gay rights within the template of religion proves flaws in "religion"

RE: Gay rights within the template of religion proves flaws in "religion"
To the OP's poll: there are no natural rights in a nation, anyway. Rights are abstractions, and granted (or seized) by people. Nature grants no rights at all, not even the right to breathe.

Agreed. Churches that don't support gay marriage shouldn't have to marry gays.

So, does this mean you are pro-gay marriage - that is, homosexual marriages should be afforded all the rights and privileges currently granted to heterosexual marriages by the government?

I am not to sure, I wouldn't say I was pro gay marriage.

Then don't have one. It's that simple.

Why settle for normal, when you can be so much more? Why settle for something, when you can have everything?

If you don't like marriage between two people of the same sex, then don't get married to someone of the same sex. If you don't like apple pie, then don't eat apple pie. If you don't like morning cartoons, then don't watch morning cartoons. If you don't like trading card games, then don't play trading card games.

Not doing the last three examples and instead trying to get them banned would be considered extremist behavior by just about everyone, so why does the first one get a pass?

I wasn't out right saying I don't like gay marriage I said I wasn't sure, put it this way if I was asked to go to a gay marriage I would decline.

You don't have to like it. You just have to understand that nobody is being hurt and not try to take away people's freedom to do it. Personally, I don't like marriage in the first place. However, you don't see me trying to make all marriages illegal.

I fever said they should be illegal I just said that people can't force others to allow their marriage to take place in a church where they don't suupport gay marriage, everyone else agreed, so what is your problem?

My problem is that you then said the following:

Which is the post I replied to. That, in and of itself, should have been the biggest hint about what my problem was.
