Fifty Questions That Christians Can't Answer

Quote:To be fair, they were escaping religious persecution,

To be completely honest they were escaping religious persecution so that they could go somewhere and do some persecuting of their own.

Oh please trust me; when I stated what I did; keep in mind that I said, "When I was a kid"......That's been 2 marriages and teenagers of my on ago....lol

I've read enough on the Witch Trials, Deist forefathers, and Colonization of the U.S. to start wanting to strangle myself and a dead Puritan....Tongue

Just as stated to Tack, on another topic...."Christians telling me that, "At least we are not as bad as we were in the dark ages"...Does just as much explaining as a Clan member saying, "At least we don't hang as many Negros as we did in the good ole days"....

Both may not be as bad, but they are still judgmental pricks when it's core is exposed......

So all Christians are judgemental pricks then?
"There ought to be a term that would designate those who actually follow the teachings of Jesus, since the word 'Christian' has been largely divorced from those teachings, and so polluted by fundamentalists that it has come to connote their polar opposite: intolerance, vindictive hatred, and bigotry." -- Philip Stater, Huffington Post

I think you took that out of context. lol I believe he meant that Christians and Clan members who make statements like the examples he posted, they are being judgmental pricks. I could be wrong, though.

I figured you would jump in on that one...LOLOL

No, just the "MASS" majority and especially the MASS majority here in the South..

I'm sure I could find a few Clan members that were nice, humble, and would cut off his/her own arm to protect a friend....

That still doesn't make what he/she believes in right or moral by any means.......Just a nice person that's a little confused.....Tongue

I'd question your use of mass but then again I'm part of the community and therefore a subjective judge. That statement was made by me Shelllb , so I have every right to feel compared to clan members and judgemental pricks, even though it was taken out of context and only a joke. If that's the way you feel come on over and have a beer so I can prove you wrong. Oh, and we'll have it at my church where 150 others can prove you wrong as well. Judgemental pricks and bigots are everywhere and I would say religion has equivicobal number in relation to populace. Big Grin

Now that we established Lucifer = Morning star
now lets open our books to Revelations (aka rantings of a madman) 22:16
it refers to Jesus as guess...yep The Morning Star
Jesus= Morning Star = Lucifer.....Jesus = Lucifer

JESUS IS THE DEVIL

Religion is not like math. If a=b and a=c, that does not mean b=c. Religion evolves.

The rebellious angel (morning star) was Lucifer the light bringer. This was the last defiant star which remained shining after all other stars were dim. It was the rival of the moon (YHWH). This is an OT negative aspect.

In the NT prophecy the morning star comes before the rise of the sun, hence it announces the arrival. This was the role of John the Baptist as Elijah. For some reason Revelation places Jesus in that role as his own announcer. Jesus should be "the light" not the "light bringer." The confusion may be that "light bringer" is someone who brings the light of truth and not the planet Venus in this case.

"We fuckers" being the corrupt rulers using Christianity as an excuse?

Yet they are identical to some part of Christian morality that it is alo based on in western society! Thinking

I think the US legislating for religious freedom and non involvement in government is actually completely in line with Christian thinking BTW.

RE: Fifty Questions That Christians Can't Answer
Judeo-Christian principles included a lack of woman's rights even though many pagan societies gave rights to women. Many Gnostic sects practiced giving women equal rights as men in church. Paul was against it and Christianity modeled itself after Paul.

Slavery was an institution supported by numerous biblical quotations. (Servent=slave in the Bibe.) It was also incorporated into the US Constitution under the 3/5 ths compromise.

The genocide of Native Americans was also biblical as preachers would quote Romans and Psalms, that the heathen lands were theirs to take.

Of the 3 mentioned negative aspects of Christian morality, I suspect slavery and genocide would have happened with or without the wonderful support of Jesus as they are simply a matter of economics. The Karl Roves of their era would have found an excuse. The lack of woman rights, however, I lay at the feet of religion.
