They should be taxed like any other business, which is, after all, what they are: they sell a service.

Further, the tax-exemption is based on the premise that they avoid political entanglements, which at least three churches (LDS, Southern Baptist, and Catholic) have deliberately violated.

At least the televamgelists should be taxed to the fullest extent. They're nothing but a business and a shady one at that. Also I don't see any reason why the Roman Catholic church isn't taxed, given all the riches they possess. And they're getting richer by the minute, since their members, after the Concordate, are paying taxes to them.

But then the government should make up all the monetary help the religions do in this country and abroad, the Christian church spends billions every year to help others, there is no telling how much the other religions spend. all i really want to say tax churches i mean we could use the extra money to help schooling etc our military and in general just the people and try to work on not borrowing so much money and try fix our debt.

Especially since many of these "services" provided by some churches require a prayer or a bible reading before any help is given. Conditional charity is not charity.

We all end up paying taxes to wars and other things we may not agree with. Why not use some of our taxes to actually help people.

And I especially think these mega churches where those who operate them have personal jets and fortunes in the tens, if not hundreds, or millions should be especially harshly taxed.
