I think it's hilarious how homophobes trying to push this stuff say the child needs to have a mother and father figure, so same sex is no good.
But for some reason they don't have a problem with single parents, usually.

I think it's a combination of pure hatred, fear of people who are different, assumptions that they will be worse parents, and some insane notion that it will turn the kid gay somehow.
All of which is totally irrational, hence using the bible as a "reason". Except when they want them in their church giving them money, then those verses don't count. Fuckweasels.
