What's nearly as scary as the 30% who think man and dinosaurs lived together is the 30% who responded "don't know". What else do these twits "not know"? If we asked them "Do you think Zeus causes thuderstorms?", would they also respond "I don't know"?

Sounds like the same imbeciles who built that ridiculous "Museum" in Kentucky that depicts humans and dinosaurs living together in harmony. Just like the Flintstones! What I find absolutely appalling is that these dolts teach this shit to their children!

Not that long ago I caught a news program that featured a piece showing creationists touring a Natural History Museum (I believe this was in Cincinnatti). Apparently, these dopes were regular visitors. What they were doing was bringing groups of schoolchildren to the museum and "debunking" the science. Of course, these morons were pushing their creationist crap on the kids and they wanted to expose them to the museum exhibits so they could point out the "errors". At one point the group was gathered in front of an exhibit displaying dinosaur bones. The head moron read the placard that told how the bones were approximately 65 million years old. The moron then instructed the children that this, of course, was wrong because we know the Earth is only 10,000 years old, and we know this through the Bible. The moron then asked the kids how the scientists could possibly know that the bones were 65 million years old. He then had the kids repeat in unison, "How do they know?" several times. What was ironic was that ten feet away was a display that explained how carbon dating works. Of course, the moron didn't point this out to the kids!

In my mind this borders on child abuse. Filling a kid's head with nonsensical trash. It was sickening to watch.

Actually I'm more concerned that the really stupid and ignorant have more children than even the moderately bright. Fortunately,in the US most of seem to live South of the Mason Dixon line.It's no accident that Washingtion DC is so far South.

OUR bible belt is called 'the deep north'.(Queensland) That's also were we keep the ferals.They're people who live in the rain forests and mate with the native animals. Some of their offspring have been declared completely new species.

I agree, scary stupid indeed, but in Texas' defense, Matt Dillahunty is the president of the Atheist Community of Austin, so clearly the state has a lot going for it. ^_^

There is definitely stupid juice in Texas' water supply. Nonetheless, I live in Massachusetts, which I like to think of as a less stupid state than Texas, at the very least, and I had a friend's brother (who was also born and raised here) tell me very seriously that humans and dinosaurs lived together. He was under the impression that I was quite retarded for not believing it too.
