However, there is proof aplenty that god does not exist.
If possessed of the Omni attributes described as characteristic of a supreme being to humans, then if a god did exist given the condition of the world and especially the chaos that exists in the name of god, then he/she is a slacker and hardly worth the effort of bending a knee in homage to that which is sadistically maltheistic and indifferent.

I love erant scripture. Especially when copyists were copying copies of copies, of copies of copies because no autograph attributed to any book in the King James "version" still exists. Because when your god created man and woman (two different times, in two different ways, which is impossible but still appears as Genesis Chapter 1 & 2) he created them in "our" image and likeness. Which means the fruit of those two tree's in the garden bearing fruits of knowledge and eternal life wouldn't matter when god said eating thereof would make Adam and Eve like unto "us" (god). Because as created they were already like unto god.
Omni-benevolence? Not hardly. Eternal damnation for a finite error? When god set it all up for Adam and Eve to fail? And then wasn't able to forgive but instead damned them eternally? Even after drowning the whole world for their sin, god repopulated through inbreeding while his curse of sin re-applied to the new life?

Why Joseph was chosen as the "father", or mary the mother, and why the idea of god impregnating her rather than he simply being Josephs actual son are important. You could take this back to the stories of the old testament as well, but many christians are willing to just write that book off completely.

You mean, other than the fact that she was, according to some traditions, impregnated by a Roman soldier named Panthera. Or, that she had 5 other sons, even though she is referred to by the Roman Catholic Church as a perpetual virgin.

The Christians write off the Old Testament, even though their founder and Savior said, in Matthew 5:17-19, that they'd BETTER follow all of the Law. It just shows that the Christians cherry-pick what they will and won't follow, regardless of what it says is or is not important. This is just more evidence that they don't believe in the whole story any more than I do - it's all pretend.

Matthew 2:23 is horseshit.

And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene.

There is no such "prophecy" in the OT.

A "Nazarene" is not "someone from Nazareth". A "Nazarene" is someone from a particular mystical sect of Judaism, related to the Essenes. And, there is STILL no such prophecy in the OT, or in any apocryphal book discovered to date.
