The world needs new definitions of terrorism

I will tell you that at least 80% (or more) of stories on my news (BBC) relating to terrorist activity is Muslim based. What more do you want me to say? Do you get apple growers blowing up trains in your area? Or women fighting with AK47s over cheap moisturiser? Give me a reason why I'm wrong to cite Islamic violence as the biggest problem this world has right now

You're in the dock, because you're making incorrect assumptions about religious groups.

Your original claim wasn't related to terrorism in the first place. Your original claim was related to ALL evil acts of violence. Sure, 80% of your news to do with terrorism may be embedded in Islam, but since when was the United Kingdom representative of 99.9% or 60 - 98% of all violent acts?

" Give me a reason why I'm wrong to cite Islamic violence as the biggest problem this world has right now" - I've given you the same reason in every post I've made in this thread so far. You don't have reliable evidence to back up your claim for starters. And I'm not disputing that Islamic terrorism is a serious issue. Whether it's the biggest issue, I'm not so sure, but you're certainly entitled to believe that it is. However, that wasn't the original argument you made in your OP. Again, you're moving the goal-posts.

Prove me that 99.9% of terrorism in the world is in the name of Islam. You are forgetting quite some terrorist organizations like racist or nationalist ones.

Let's refocus... terrorism and killing is wrong
who's doing it? some people...
Whoops I miscalculated, therefore I'm the criminal..

Get a grip fendon... challenge the killers rather than the ones who get their (media fed) stats a bit wrong...

Where do you get your info from ?

Well let's challenge them all rather than kicking the shite out of me ffs !
PS if you're about to post a reply and your response is going to be negative, improper, average, odd, obtuse, irrational, an argument, might change the focus, going off at a tangent or just mean ... go and find a maths forum to post on instead, they'll love you !!

Agreed.

Agreed. Don't mouth off religious groups if you don't know what you're talking about.

I challenge the killers everyday dude, Doesn't mean they're the only group contributing to the problem. Western perceptions on Islam fuel Islamophobia, which in turn, contributes to Islamic terrorism.

I'm not making a claim. I'm disputing yours. You show me why we need to redefine terrorism and Ill show you why we shouldn't. I feel like you're not really experienced in how debates work...

I'm still waiting. Your proposal is wilfully ignorant. Terrorism can be Islamic but terrorism isn't solely motivated by Islam or even religion, you can be a terrorist and an atheist if you move forward a political or ideological agenda.

And?.....are they still a risk for us all?

Are you saying to call all terrorism Islamic or just that committed by Muslims?
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.

Miscalculating isn't a criminal act. While we're about it, pulling a random number out of your arse isn't exactly calculating, either.

I wanna be a terrorist, in that if I ever decide my life's just too much trouble to deal with anymore, I'm going to just run into the house of Congress and scream "death to the corrupt!" or something and try to take out as many of 'em as possible.

...I know you're there, NSA!

Don't worry, they'll be wasting their time. Unless they really wanna watch pale skinned guys in makeup jackin' it to goth-girl porn.

Hey, everyone's got their thing, right? I ain't judgin'...

Chas, I was suggesting that the PM of Japan should feel it appropriate to say that the killers of his countryman was a muslim killing in the name of Islam.

So non-islamic terrorism is by definition no longer terrorism?

Btw, in terms of violence, I highly doubt islamic inspired violence is responsible for anything close to a majority of the death caused by violence.

I am willing to bet domestic and drug related violence kills many times more people world wide each year then violence in the name of Islam. But I am sure if you are cornered and skinned alive by a Mexican drug gang, you would be less displeased by your fate because not being Islamic, the kind of violence perpetrated on you would be less "evil".
