Does God follow his WORD? Or is it --- do as I say and not as I do?

We are also suppose to only sacrifice bulls with large nice looking balls. I think it's safe to say we should make up or own mind of what to think and do. O__o

I come back to this and I can't help it.
Your rant (admit it) from this perspective is a roar.
On Job (who preceded Moses by a long time)- (I am going to give you a paraphrase)

God to Satan- "Have you seen my servant Job? There is none like him".

Satan- "Does he serve you for nothing? You bless him coming and going, but take away his goodies and he will curse you to your face".

God- look dummy, he is in your hand right know and you don't realize it. (Job was very fearful, making sacrifices for his kids and who knows what else- fear is the opposite of faith, and fear puts one IN the devil's playground) Only spare his life.
Satan and his minions inspired enemies to attack, Job was attacked with boils.

Job passed that test.
Every one of us are tested. This life is a test.
Here is a test of another kind- get off your platform for a moment, and humbly ask the God of Heaven the very question this post began with.
(Drich isn't here right now, so I will fill in for him).

On Moses, God does not deal lightly with rebellion- He indicates it is the same as witchcraft and the first rebellion was Satan's.
The people who left Egypt SAW what happened to the pharaoh and the Egyptians.
They had an eyeful, yet planned a mutiny.
You history buffs know what happens to mutineers.

Prof, all I read is "my god is a really mean guy who punishes people for being afraid of him". I'm pretty sure my ex-husband is an exact replica of god.

Prof

"You quoted a chunk of the bible that made my god seem bad, so I'm going to quote another completely irrelevant chunk of the bible to explain why you're wrong even though you're right" is all I can gather from that.

Prof you quoted probably the best thing from the bible showing how god is a dick really no really god isn't good.

No. Yes.

God would be the worst parent ever. If he were real he would've had his kids taken away long ago.

On this I can agree.

1 Corinthians 13:4-7New International Version (NIV)

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

He is a jealous god, and loves to remind people I am the Lord thy God. He is definitely self seeking, easily angered, and keeps a record of wrongs. Apparently he doesn't always protect, and as soon as you die he will cast you away for eternity.

My tradition, Gnostic Christianity calls God an evil demiurge so I agree that his view of love would also be as twisted as you indicate.

Clearly we should follow neither. God gives shit advice.

More like one is evil and the other is worse.

I agree but wanted to give Christians something to think about. Or at least attempt to think.

So best burn it. Then burn it again.

That as well as all other so called holy books.

Not mine though. Wink

When asked why murder is a sin but their god can committ genocide, many will say because god has the right to kill humans because he created life. The same people will then assure you that their god loves everyone

If you understood what hell was and about you would understand more than you do now. It want do any good to try and explain things to you, it hasn't in the past nor will it in the future. Experience is a truth giver.

You would grovel like a little baby.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Given your position GC you would curse god if he killed everything you hold near and dear to you and only to find out it was over a bet with the devil no really you would have a personal vendetta against god.

Come on GC, work with me here. I WON'T bite you if you don't WANT me to.

Also, tell me about hell. What can I look forward to?
