If I were in Texas, I'd stay the hell off people's porches. On the other hand, maybe getting shot while witnessing earns you a free ticket to heaven...

We don't shoot folks for stepping on our porches. Not getting off'n them, on the other hand ...

I've had them come to my door a few times. I've been very polite and just said I'm not interested.

It has been hard to keep a straight face, because sometimes they have interrupted me writing stuff about atheism.

I wonder if I should try and engage them in conversation next time, get them to think. Is there any point? I guess there's nothing to lose, and if they're cold calling me, I'm entitled to stand up for myself.

I made that mistake on an airplane not too long ago. I "learned" that the god of the OT was the awful being that he was because "the Jews are a stubborn people." That is was mostly non-Jews Yahweh was supposed to be stomping on didn't seem to deter her. I also "learned" the reason it's different this time and the end is really nigh is that now we have nuclear weapons. I can see that that might speed up the end, I just don't see where god comes into it. It was an "interesting" flight.
If there is a god, I want to believe that there is a god.  If there is not a god, I want to believe that there is no god.

God had to postpone his armageddon until we lowly human worms got around to inventing the means by which it could be accomplished.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

No, no, no, god foresaw nuclear weapons when he created people and gave them freewill. So he knew Armageddon was coming and planned accordingly. You see because he made us, he made nuclear weapons by extension, don't you see? *snicker*

This reminded me of something.

Obviously when a doctor saves someone's life through a combination of incredible expertise and advanced technology, actually it was God working through them. So that means the amount of power God has to "heal" people is limited entirely by human knowledge and technology.

This means that either:

1) God has to wait around for us to learn and invent things until he can help us with the next big medical problem.

2) God is also responsible for the growth of the medical expertise and technology, but is choosing to roll that out really slowly so as to limit himself in what he can do.

Either way, what a mental load of shit.

By today's standards god is a weakling and cannot do much at all.

I didn't get that at first but thats some funny shit.

Actually I don't see how they witnessed anything. The fuckers don't have the first goddamn window in their church. Has anybody else noticed that? Not one fucking window.
