I'd rather you torture me, Jesster, than that God dude. At least you'd be cool about it.

That's what I was hoping.
Yes please. Oh and Skype me anytime
Erm, yeah. Obey or else. Can anyone do better than mugging me with an imaginary gun? I don't care, anyway. I'll do what I think is right, I can't trust the word of an egotistical maniac.
It's rather an insult to any real creator out there that they would be so mind meltingly petty. Feel free to send me a private message.

"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."
-Stephen Jay Gould
For an interesting idea on a/the 'creator' read Asimov's The Last Question.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

If douchegod exists, I'm going to hell anyway. That's never -been- enough to scare me into submission, why would it suddenly become so?
Disregarding that Posef here brought it up, this is another one of those fundamental misperceptions that liars for christ have. They think that if they could just prove their god existed, it would scare somebody, and that said somebody would bend the knee all of a sudden. They never prepare themselves or their arguments for that insurmountable and inevitable failure to produce the result they desire.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!
Hey, we're all creators. It's just that nobody cares about our shit.
But then, at least it exists.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Some people will write pages and pages of stuff trying to establish the existence of "God", but can't/won't spare a few words to tell me why I should give the first fuck about any of it. Well, let's start with a real basic and simple reason. If it's true that god exists, then you should care about it in the same way you care about anything else you hold to be true. Caring about truth (or at least as close as we may come to truth) seems to be something you do a lot. Why not start there? |
