This is exactly what my status says:

Quote:Here's to everyone enjoying their dinners of Ham (goddamn that whole cloven foot thing!), mashed potatoes, deviled eggs, green beans etc all while wearing mixed fabrics and celebrating something that has never been proven.

Cheers!

Here is the response from said "friend":

Quote:Ok well u celebrate Xmas so isn't that the same thing as Easter and Jesus Death and resurrection is proven maybe if u take a look in the bible once and stop being a narcostic person u could see the truth in The Lord And we will pray for you and you're sins

To which I replied with:
Quote:Actually I don't celebrate christmas as a Christian. I buy my kids stuff and we put up a tree. None of that is mentioned in the book of fairy tales (read: buy-bull).

If you actually read your bible you would know that mixing fabrics is a sin punishable by death. Eating any meat with a split hoof is a sin punishable by death. But by all means please continue to pick and choose which parts of your bible you want to believe in.
And if my speaking the truth and using logic isn't your cup of tea, feel free to move on.

Needless to say, there was no further response from her. I felt her response was a pathetic attempt at guilt tripping me for posting what I had a right to on my wall. Her comments were demeaning in nature by their dismissive tone - telling me to stop being a "narcostic" (whatever that is) person and see the truth in the lord. Really... now how is what I said exactly demeaning to anyone? I look at her response like this - she doesn't like the fact that there are people out there smart enough to question the existence of god. That there are people out there that don't buy into the hype of some sky daddy and so since she's incredibly naive she chooses to go the route of being demeaning in her comments.

But who takes Orchams Brazeur seriously?

Yeah. That first part is kind of obnoxious for a Facebook post especially since your friends get to see it on their News Feed. Passive aggressive FB posts got ranked as one of the least favorable posts for Facebook.

Christians can eat ham...the only thing a Christian cannot actually eat is blood (not even sure there is a verse about being against cannibalism; it's just implied that it's wrong).

You were demeaning from the first post, so I don't think you really should complain if one of your friends called you out.
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin.

@Judi

Honestly, I'm not sure whether to think of your FB friend's response as guilt tripping or demeaning, because it is so incoherent and ungrammatical, it's almost meaningless. An alternative response would have been - come again?

The words of Jesus, according to Matthew 5:

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

So you agree that it is narschephastic.  Orchams Brazeur be damned!
