In soccer we see celebrations a lot, but they seem mostly correct and mostly based on adrenaline, nothing preplanned. That sort of thing I have no problem with, but what the OP talks about makes me cringe when watching pointyball.

WTF is there to celebrate in soccer?

I'll tell you, worldwide soccer fans are absolutely nuts. A few years ago, forgot which country, but some South American country, if memory served me correctly, fans murdered their own goalie because he accidentally knocked the ball into his own net.

I really don't care what sport you are into, at the stands or at a bar, if you are fighting over a mere sport, you are a fucking moron. Even the riots after a hockey game or college football game, GROW THE FUCK UP. You aren't fighting Hitler, it is just a fucking game.

No, sorry, it has nothing to do with cost of the game. It is what one is used to and taste. I find it boring too, but again, I was not raised in it. I also hate golf too, and that requires expensive equipment. ALL SPORTS especially at the pro level, take talent. Just say you don't like soccer. I get that.

I'm not referring to individual Americans regarding cost, rather to the world as a whole. You can literally tie rags up into a ball, mark off a patch of dirt, and play soccer. Hence it's worldwide popularity. It's what many people are "used to" because it's all they could afford growing up.

So? I hate this stupid attitude. Cost of the equipment has nothing to do with the talent of a player in any sport. There are tons of players of all sports who never make it to the pro level and have as much talent as those who do. The math simply is not there for everyone with talent to make it to the pros. No different than the tons of talented bands you can see locally at a club who will not get as famous as the bands you know.

Soccer takes talent to play, it isn't as simple as kicking a ball around and has nothing to do with the class you are raised in. Again, just stick with saying you personally don't like the sport.

I don't mind the celebrating of minor plays in NFL. Usually the celebrations in these situations go unnoticed, for one thing, but also every position in the NFL is specialized, so even if the play isn't flashy and its just a guy executing what his position calls for, that's going on his highlight reel/resume. So long as he doesn't excessively celebrate, I don't see anything wrong with a player being excited for just doing exactly what he needed to do.

Apparently, the only thing worth celebrating in soccer is a goal. You never see a "good soccer play" on SC's Top Ten. Whether or not the goal takes the #1 spot depends on the time of year. Haha I'm just kidding, the rest of the world; I'm sure soccer is fun.
