My story! I am an Ex-Muslim, became and Atheist. I was visited by an Angel of God.

I was once touched by an angel.

She charged about $250 for 30 minutes.

The wings were not a hindrance to the proceedings as I recall and the gossamer outfit quite appealing.

Do you think that we have enough information and evidence based on what you've told us to be reasonably confident you actually saw an Angel?

Would you believe what someone else said based on this level of evidence? Because I'm thinking you'd have to believe almost anything anyone ever told you.

I don't need to claim you didn't see an angel, I simply don't have enough evidence to conclude that you did. Just saying it is paranormal doesn't make it paranormal.

I was a skeptic as everyone else, the information i provided is all i have as evidence. Let us say, a group of 50 men appeared yesterday in the news and said: "we have witnessed a divine visitation came from the heaven's above". If you interrogate each one of them, they all will state something different. Probably 50% of the people will say we witnessed an Angel, and they will provide a description based on what they saw, there could be minor differences as well. But the basic concept is that they truly saw a spirit of some kind.

The rest of the 50% will probably say, no it was just our imagination. And, it was probably a flying creature (animal). SO, in this case who would you rather believe? of course, its sensible to believe the group who say it was an animal creature, and wasn't truly a spirit. Unless the spirit spoke to the people, then its plausible to say "we have truly witnessed an Angel"

First, no you didn't, you recounted an extremely dubious series of events with absolutely nothing to back it up except your written word. On the internet. Which has about as much weight as the average gnat testicle.

Second, you see that logo at the top of every page? The one with "ATHEIST FORUMS" emblazoned across it in orange and blue tinted steel font? Why on earth would you think your shaky recounting of what is either outright lies or an easily explainable hallucination couple with Hindsight Bias would in any way move us, let alone convince us?

Apart from which we haven't got fifty people all saying the same thing, we've only got one person's testimony. That "what if" is just a red herring. We're not dismissing the story just for the sake of doing it, we've all come up with plausible explanations that you asked for. You've given us zero information that we can verify, yet you're asking for verification of a totally subjective story. It's not our job to tell you what it isn't, it's yours to support what you claim it is; and I don't see you possibly doing that. Remember what Katie Holmes' granddad Sherlock said, that "once you've eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth"? You haven't even come close to doing the first part yet; you've jumped feet first straight to the last part with no justification - and you're surprised that we won't follow you?

I can see that your signature has Carl Sagan quote. Did you know Carl Sagan is my hero. I have read his book called "The Demon-Haunted World", you should read it. In his book, he talks about many cases concerning hallucinations, dreams and visions. I understand each analysis he made about every spiritual encounter and alien abductions cases in the book, he also concluded that all we have are stories created by human based only on mere imagination. And not built on true evidence.

Dude, when i speak, i speak the truth. The evidence i provided seemed rational to me, because it does not meet the criteria which its found in the book. IF you examine all other cases, you will notice that the scenario i provided is way different from the others.

Prince, if you have read the Demon Haunted World, you know the story about the invisible, fire-breathing dragon, correct?

Your story is akin to that.

Then explain my invisible dog encounter.

I see you didn't answer my question. If someone came to you with a similar account to this, about some other supernatural thing, would you believe them?

Again, I'm not saying you are wrong. I'm not saying you don't believe it is an angel. I'm saying that for you to expect a sceptical person to believe you, this is not enough evidence. If you just want everyone to believe on you on face value, then I'm afraid you've come to the wrong place. There's a difference between being open minded and just believing anything.

Why is it so important to you that we believe you? Isn't enough enough to say we believe you believe it?

And I don't care if 50 or 5,000 people say they saw a spirit or whatever. Without evidence I can assess, I dismiss all accounts, if it's in reference to such a fantastical claim. I believe it's always more likely they are mistaken or making it up.

We have no way to verify your claim, that's the fact of the matter.

Dude, everything you describe sounds like an episode of sleep paralysis.  You say you've read about how hallucinations, dreams and visions can cause very real feeling experiences, yet you dismiss all that the moment you have an experience.  That is NOT being skeptical or rational at all.  I have a feeling you won't even bother to look it up, but in case you are actually skeptical and not just lying, please read this.

The fact that you won't even consider that your brain was the cause of your "experience" leads me to believe you are just here trolling us, though.

I guess i didn't realize it this way. Its impossible to prove a substantial evidence that can be used to verify the story, other than the spirit pulled my leg.

Anyway, I had a good time discussing my experience with you. Much appreciated!
