So, when the vast majority of humanity believed that the sun orbited the earth, and that the earth was flat, was that evidence that they were correct?

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

Using this logic the SETI program should not be probing the electromagnetic spectrum in outer space, but instead be counting the number of members of the abovetopsecret forum. It would be a lot cheaper.

If you look back through history, "people's choices" have often been staggeringly wrong, for an awfully long time, before they are corrected. I know you're about to fart on about how, therefore, people's beliefs in evolution are probably wrong too, or some shit like that, but the point is that belief by population is in no way an indicator of truth, as the flat earth, slavery, geocentrism and so on aptly demonstrate. It's belief by evidence that counts, and on that score, your religion is still at zero.

Have you read his "oh yeah? Well I have a theory of god!" tantrum in response to being straightened out on what a scientific theory is in the "stump a christian" thread? Toddler might be about right.
