ex-Christians and the unpardonable sin
To any ex-Christians here - has anyone thought or said what's meant to be the unpardonable sin?

Blasphemy of the holy spirit is considered "the unpardonable sin".

Blasphemy is pretty up there. I've also heard suicide, because you can't ask forgiveness for killing yourself after you're dead. It's kind of telling that of all the horrible things that god could deem unforgivable, disagreeing with something he said or did is what he picked.

In the Mormon world with their totally (and I am NOT kidding) confused perception(s) and self-contradictory view(s) of the godhead it would be damn hard to discern whether a specific comment would or would not be an unpardonable sin.

I'd even posit that having such a literally nonsensical and totally confused definition(s) of the godhead might in itself constitute an unpardonable sin for all Mormons everywhere.
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Heya, I'm not an ex christian, but welcome to the forum!

I've tried doing everything they say but still no one will commit to the idea that I'm beyond salvation. So it seems pretty weak.

Welcome!

I see that you are unsure about your faith.  I came here awhile ago with the same feeling.  Some of the christians here tried to help, but honestly I wanted to hear what I thought was correct...the truth.

There are plenty of people here to answer your questions, so ask away.

I believe blasphemy of the holy spirit is the only sin listed in the bybul.

Have the evangelicals tell it, gay sex.

Nah you can hit your wife and force your daughter to go through with a pregnancy she doesn't want, but gay sex? Unpardonable.

Blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is apostasy, denying the saving grace of God having previously accepted it.
