It makes sense that some people feel the need to supplement reality with unreality (human dissatisfaction with lack of answers and meaning), and it makes sense that an indoctrinated mind will fight to convince itself that religion is reasonable.

No one but God can manifest these holy souls, and make them guides for us...for we who are not guided cannot simply decide what the guidance and who the Guides are.
It makes sense the Honorable Creator would admonish us and remind us through his words, about following the path of those who he favored with divine guidance and are of the best people.
These treasures and divine words in us, are in weak state. Unfortunately, if we reflect upon it, we see we are very weak towards the divine forces within us.
In the Unseen, there is form of beauty and glory, that is tied with the spirit of devotion to God. Different manifestations of glory and beauty take place, but there is an etiquette to follow.
Just as we need teachers to teach us math, and we need teachers to teach us science, and books help, God has appointed us teachers to teach us how to use and perfect the treasures with in us and has sent revealed books.
This is rational given how human center around learning from both books, practice, and practical teachers.
The teachers in the journey to God are those who are aware of the etiquette required in each stage and who's hearts have been revealed the unseen forms of good actions.
In this day and age, however, there is no access to an outward guide of this nature, but the way to access it is to frequently turn to God. If we turn to God often, surely he will guide us towards his Guide of time and appoint him as a companion to our journey.
He will help us realize the majesty of his speech and purify our hearts.
Religion makes sense, because, religion is about putting into practice divine treasures in the soul: through divine text and writing, through practical example and code of practice, and through teachers and guides.
Denying the divine treasures in the soul is illogical and against our knowledge of ourselves.
If we remember ourselves, we will remember God.
We are all connected to a spiritual kingdom, in which we can look into. It's about time we begin to look with the eyes of our hearts and get connected to the spiritual world, and realize the path of our Leaders and Guides, and that we take a journey with the company of the guide of our time.
Deism is to dry, no link to the higher realms, no training from God on how to hone divine weapons and treasures, no help and guidance from God...etc...
And Atheism, to be blunt, just denies what we are, and what we can see ourselves to be.

In psychological terms, this phenomenon is technically known as 'lying to yourself.' While it manifests mainly in those sorely afflicted with religious belief (the more serious the affliction, the more monstrous the lies), similar cases can be found in people who believe that the magician really DID saw the woman in half and that planetary positions at the moment of their birth will have an effect on what kind of party they want for their 30th birthday.
But all is not lost MK. With rest, care and appropriate medications and counseling, I don't see you being confined in the psychiatric hospital for more than five or six years.

Do you have irrefutable scientific evidence to back this up? Such as physical proof that God can indeed manifest anything outside of one's own imagination? I dunno, say - perform an actual miracle like re-growing a missing body part?

Wrong. Religion is a DANGEROUS man made concept that was created to make excuses for the justification of getting away with whatever people thought was wrong. Religion is harmful. It is brainwashing, at best and it is abusive to indoctrinate children, who have no ability to determine fact from fiction at a young tender age, into a belief system where they are taught that fearing some imaginary, mythical creature is the only way they will get to see grandma and grandpa in an imaginary place called heaven.

It's about time you opened your eyes to the reality that the world is not flat, nor is it 6000 years old. Nor is there any such thing as God because there isn't one shred of credible evidence to back up his existence.

The specific religion people choose often has a bias, but the same is true of the morality we come to believe in. Just because there is diverse moralities, doesn't mean there isn't an objective morality. And just because there are diverse religions, doesn't mean there isn't a divine religion.
Notice my title didn't state Islam makes sense, but that religion makes sense. The specific form of which religion needs an additional argument.
Incorrect, sir. specific religions ALWAYS have a bias. Take the word "often" out of the equation entirely because out of over 25,000 deities/religions out there, they can't ALL be correct.
Look... someone's gonna pray for rain on a Saturday so their plants get watered. And on the same Saturday, someone else from the same town, is gonna pray that it doesn't rain because of an outdoor event they are attending/participating in. Either way, someone is going to be disappointed because their prayers weren't answered. Meanwhile, the barometric pressure coming up from the south and colliding with the cold front coming down from the North is going to make it rain on one of these people. I firmly believe that the weather was the deciding factor and not some "god" that two people prayed to.

It is impossible for all religions to be right. It is entirely possible for all religions to be wrong.
The fact that most religious folk use special pleading to exempt their own faith from the same scrutiny they apply to other faiths should be a clue to them.
