I'm sad to say I was inadvertently the catalyst. Her reaction to a minor event (me giving a kudos) kind of sparked a massive forum vs CL scenario. She tried to keep replying to everyone instead of letting it drop, and I think this just made it worse.

Personally I feel some people went way too hard on her, and her attempts to explain herself did not go over well. For what it's worth, I think she was trying her best to be honest, although I can totally see why that would not appear to be the case at times. She was clearly hampered by her automatic mental defences of her religion, but that is the case for almost every religious theist.

I don't want to rake it all up again though. I'm just very sad she's gone.

Rob, I agree, too many here were too rude to CL.
Especially Nappa. I felt that no-one was prepared to have a polite theist here permanently.

She was spoken to in a way which can only end in her leaving.
I believe she was polite and genuine - no bad mouth rage quitting or anything like that.

You guys had genuine hate for her beliefs. Many of us here don't believe she needed to leave.
Yes, we do understand that her beliefs are inadvertently "ungodly" (pardon the pun) but does that mean that we must end all associations with theists the same way.

Basically, the only ones left are the Drich, Huggy and the GC type who are immune to our foul language.
I would've thought a little more variety might've been nicer that's all...

I don't think that is generally a good idea.  A flood of PMs might get someone to leave entirely.

Yes, exactly.  But also:

Jeremiah 4:

10 Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul.


Ezekiel 14:

9 And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a thing, I the LORD have deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:


We could also examine particular lies, for example, in the garden of Eden, when Adam and Eve don't die when they eat of the tree of knowledge, but instead gain knowledge.  Which is what satan tells them will happen.  In other words, God is a liar, and satan is honest in that story.

I won't bother with any more examples, as we all know that the religionists will twist everything from its ordinary meaning in an attempt to force the story to fit their views of how it should be.

She is a deluded member of a death cult that believes only blood magic can save them that had brought untold suffering on man kind, including disguising and protecting a pedophilia ring for 100s of years. Worst off she wanted to make criticizing them a raboo on this forum.
