If it's a strange little woman who tells you to go into the light, run like hell.

You asked about the dark, that's where non believers live and will stay until judgement. At Judgement those in the dark will be before the omniscient, omnipotent God of creation who is judge of all mankind, this is the light and this is the time they will have to tell God how they're going to hurt Him, yes while facing the eternal punishment this will be their time to make that punishment even worse. But then if you're to remain in the dark this want have any meaning until the day of Judgement. It is your choice after all.

God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

The Christian fairy tale is darker, and much less entertaining, than a Grimm fairy tale.  My choice will always be toward reason, for to bow to ignorance is absurd.

Quote:Also there was the fulfillment of the OT prophecies, they (prophecies) were there to show the people that Jesus was the Messiah.

Which prophecies were those again, G-C?

We are all Atheists when we die. For all we will know is nothingness.

We are born default atheists. We learn about the concept of God, and until we've finished understanding what God means and evaluating the "evidence", we're cognitive atheists. (Yes, these are terms I made up.) By the point that we've understood exactly what people are talking about and why it may be true (not sure I've even reached that point... Tongue ) then a belief can be formed so you could become a theist. This is the earliest point it can be achieved.

I don't know why I said all that. Showing that atheism is the natural position until someone fucks with you, I suppose.

I'm not so sure. I feel that when people are born, they are neither atheist or theist. They don't have an active position regarding a deity, it's only when someone comes along and pollutes their minds or they actually think about the subject on their own, that they become an agnostic, atheist, theist, etc. Atheism is an active position, that states that you don't believe in a god. So, if you don't know what a god is, I'd say you're neither an agnostic, atheist, or a theist. I don't know if there would be a default position on that, although I've heard that before. I remember Sam Harris saying that, but I don't agree with it, not that it's a big issue or anything.

Yeah, that's my attempt to coin it with "default atheist". It means lacking a belief in God due to having no concept of what a God is.

"Cognitive atheist" means you're aware, but still lack belief.

Whether these are useful or appropriate phrases or not I don't know. I want to be famous please.
