Speculate on Jesus 3 days of HELLISH torment !!!

Do you think that the bible says Jesus went to hell and was tortured and tormented by Satan?  

Why did jesus go down there for "3" days then? And, why did it take 3 days to do whatever he had to do?

This what the bible says about it. Where ever souls existed as they they awaited the final judgement, which is yet to come, must be where Jesus went for at least some of the time. No mention of hell or that Jesus was tormented by the devil.

Doesn't surprise me.  It's a gross thing to contemplate.  In fact, before this thread my thought was Jesus was not for three days and then he was again.  But now the idea has been raised, I suppose that if it's a true story god must have let the devil have at.  And presumably he'd have done his worst knowing full well his time was limited.

If you really do believe in heaven and hell and the death and resurrection, it's worth contemplating.  It certainly ups the sacrifice stakes.  It's more of an act of love and sacrifice if he went to hell for reals rather than just winking out for bit isn't it?

But frankly it ups my Christian god doesn't exist stakes.  You see even three days of the worst torment imaginable is more than any human deserves for tormenting others during life.  So the just, let alone loving, god of the NT simply can't exist.

I seem to remember you saying through the magic of cherry-picking (oh what a swiss army knife of ignorance that is!) that you don't believe people are tortured in Hell for eternity. So how much time is just long enough for someone like a rapist to learn their lesson through the application of unimaginable agony, but short enough to keep Captain Cloudfucker in the good boy books?

Why wouldn't the christer cause be enhanced with additional Jesus suffering beyond his hours on the cross?? I'm surprised this is even an issue.
There is almost universal horror of gay stuff in the christer orbit, having their Salvation purchased by their Jesus suffering mightily at the hands, er, well, the barbed and cloven penis of Satan, would make their Eternal Reward all the more precious, no ??

What am I missing here ??

I think I have made a valiant effort in making the story make sense. 

Satan HAD to be appeased (compensated) in the transaction that purchased Salvation for the 144,000.   Jesus is clearly the only one tagged to pay too, never heard a christer claim anyone else's sacrifice would do. Clearly, boiling ordinary sinners in molten iron doesn't buy Salvation for anyone. Just try to imagine for a moment what Jesus would have had to willingly endure to appease Satan for the sake of the 144,000 !!!   And to do it in just a matter of several hours.

If anything, I have understated the magnitude of His (temporary) torment.   Satan would not be bought off cheap.

The 144,000 were all Jews, all male and all virgins. If they're the only ones who will be saved then the vast majority of Christians are out of luck..

Damn, I'm trying to imagine what Jesus would have had to endure to redeem all those Christians !!!

Well, I've read the Bible now and then.  It doesn't say Jesus went to hell.  It doesn't say what happened to Jesus other than that he died and rose again.  But if unsaved souls go to hell, that's where he went unless he was without sin.  If he was without sin, he was never truly human which is a heretical idea.  If he didn't go to hell, his sacrifice was truly minimal.  No eternal death not even a taste of hell.  But if he did go to hell he wasn't without sin and therefore not a perfect sacrifice.  It's a contradiction.  The bible specializes in contradictions.

Where the hell do the 144,000 virgin men come into it?  Oh!  Google reveals the Watchtower.  The JWs are their own special brand of crazy.  They're particularly good at applying the OT where it clearly doesn't apply.
