teachings of the Bible are so muddled and self-contradictory that it was possible for Christians to happily burn heretics alive for five long centuries. It was even possible for the most venerated patriarchs of the Church, like St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas, to conclude that heretics should be tortured (Augustine) or killed outright (Aquinas). Martin Luther and John Calvin advocated the wholesale murder of heretics, apostates, Jews, and witches. - Sam Harris, "Letter To A Christian Nation"

What you do in the privacy of your own home is none of our business.

You collect stamps, really, you just refuse to believe it.

If atheism is a religion then I'm clearly a complete retard for thinking I understood what non-belief is...
Damn, I guess I'll have to call myself a non-theist now.
P.S. What's the difference?
P.P.S. If one of the tenets of atheism was that men are superior to women.... then I have shattered my reputation as a worshiper of female orgasm... please sacrifice me now.... I'll hold my breath until the very end.

Men on average objectively have a higher VTRAX rating.
I'm not going to tell you how that rating is determined, but I will tell you that a higher rating means they are better.
So men are better than women. And better can mean better in any sense you like.
VTRAX is the "who is the best" equivalent of "objective morality"

If VTRAX proved men were "better" than women... I'd actually on this occasion throw out the evidence and keep my belief that women are fucking awesome as fuck...
... I can't bear to live in a world where men women are genuinely believed to be "better" - men are shit-heads.
I can't off the top of my head think of any other occasion where I would be willfully ignorant like that... women are just that damn awesome to me.

Just for the record, the etymology of "idiot" is:
Quote:early 14c., "person so mentally deficient as to be incapable of ordinary reasoning;" also in Middle English "simple man, uneducated person, layman" (late 14c.), from Old French idiote "uneducated or ignorant person" (12c.), from Latin idiota "ordinary person, layman; outsider," in Late Latin "uneducated or ignorant person," from Greek idiotes "layman, person lacking professional skill" (opposed to writer, soldier, skilled workman), literally "private person" (as opposed to one taking part in public affairs), used patronizingly for "ignorant person," from idios "one's own" (see idiom).
Not surprising that a priest made shit up for Jesus. Did he do the Hovind classic, "The word Universe is made up of 'uni' meaning 'one'; and 'verse', meaning 'spoken word or sentence'." ?
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'
