   tou·ché
   to͞oˈSHā/
   exclamation
   exclamation: touché
(in fencing) used as an acknowledgment of a hit by one's opponent.
used as an acknowledgment during a discussion of a good or clever point made at one's expense by another person.
   Origin
French, literally ‘touched,’ past participle of toucher .

It's normally used when someone has made a witty comeback insulting the other person after they have tried insulting them. It is not normally used to acknowledge someone's point in a debate.

I admit I used to make that mistake of using the word touche for the wrong purpose.

If that's the case, it seems like I would never have an uninteresting day from then on out. Could my brain get worn out? I dunno.
Would it be surprising if thought, like anything else we do, was made more fluent with practice and repitition?  Would it surprise you if constant practice was tiring, or burdensome?

You're describing the experience of prodigies and overachievers.  Cellists and wide receivers.

Ironically, I think you're over-analyzing.

I see what you mean. I guess it takes a balance. You have to know when to analyze and when to not.

RE: Question about Brain
Anyone here ever tried any herbal supplement for boosting concentration, memory, ............? There seems to be a new one that's got a lot of attention, starts with a C but can't remember the name.

If you have, what did your think?
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.

Choline is what you're thinking of, and the category would be Nootropics.

Yes there are lots of Nootropics, ranging from herbal supplements to pills. I currently take Modafinil which is on the heavier spectrum of Nootropics.

They work. However, the heavier you go, or the more nootropics you take at once(because you can stack them on top of eachother), the worse the brain decline after you stop [may] be. Brain decline as in - if you are operating at a high level with the drugs, take them away, you will feel cognitively below normal for a while. I think it's worth it. I mean even though modafinil is on the heavier level of them, it has minimal side effects, which is why it is gaining popularity. My personal experience with it for me, is that it increases my: Memory, focus(not too much but I also take ADD medication for that specifically), Creativity, Energy(I will be researching sometimes on the internet from when I get home from school until 12 AM), but most importantly I make a lot more connections I otherwise would have missed. Like I can detect patterns much more efficiently.

I have been researching on this category of drug for the past week or so because I was curious since I was taking Modafinil already. It's pretty interesting, you should read up on it, there are a lot of over the counter nootropics you can get that do in fact work. For starters, one that a lot of people use that is pretty light that already has a lot of different nootropics combined in order to create a nootropic stack in only one pill is called "Alpha Brain".

RE: Question about Brain
You can definitely get in the habit of thinking sharper. My experience is with high-ish level mathematics competitions; you train to see things in a certain way, and it comes a lot easier. This isn't just learning more; by freshman year of college I knew pretty much everything I needed for the Putnam Exam my senior year, but you can train yourself so that things you would spend a lot of time thinking about become obvious. I've found later in life that this extends to basic things like logic. If you start paying attention to things like "times someone in a commercial states x and y are correlated but is implying causation," you will start seeing it every day more and more.

But it's like a muscle, like other forms of exercise. You get real dull real fast.

Don't worry, my friend.  If this be the end, then so shall it be.
