I find the thought of eating sprouts gross. It makes me feel sick to think about people eating them. But I'm not going to try and stop them on account of my emotional reactions.

Yuck! Given the choice between eating Brussels sprouts and having gay sex, I think I know where I stand. That stuff is inedible.

This is why I don't like Christmas. I've asked if I can have the gay sex instead but no, not at the dinner table.

^^^agree, it was almost a month before I realized I could experience masturbation without guilt, that was a weird/new experience. (hope that's not too personal for y'all)

I don't know about you, but I tremendously value all the knowledge and art that we have found and accomplished and created over the millenia, and humanity going extinct would more or less mean that all of that is lost, and I feel that it should be preserved and appreciated as long as possible. That's not an objective value because those do not exist, but I think it is one that is widely shared, and one that is closely tied to human curiosity.
The fool hath said in his heart, There is a God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

If mankind were to go extinct no one would be here to mourn the loss. It would have no effect on anyone because they would not exist. It would likely have a very positive effect on the rest of the world though.
Plants and animals don't really give a damn about our knowledge and arts as far as I can tell, though zeh puppies might be a bit sad to see us go, I think the cats would celebrate and see it as their shot of being the next species to rule the earth.

I'm not saying that I want us to go extinct. I'm just saying I don't think it's going to happen any time soon, I don't think we need to be so worried about it that we should ban homosexuality in the hopes that gays will have babies, and when it does happen I don't think it will be the worst thing that could ever happen.

It sounds like by the same standards, it would be ok to shoot someone in the head from behind as long as they don't have friends.

Well that is a different issue. I'm not too worried about the gays exterminating humanity either, but if they did, I would not appreciate it at all! Smile

I'm not talking about extermination at all. It's not ok to shoot someone regardless of whether or not they have friends. It is, however, okay to choose not to have a baby even if you're the last woman on earth and/or to choose not to impregnate someone even if you're the last man on earth. It is okay to choose to only have sex with people of your same gender even though it can not directly help stop human extinction.

We don't need to be worried about extinction to a point that we are forbidding sex if it cannot result in reproduction.

I personally still don't see how extinction would hurt anyone.

RE: Atheism "rights & wrongs"?
Atheists don't know the difference between right and wrong, and neither do they believe in right and wrong. Amongst other things, this is why all atheists will burn in the fiery pits of hell for allllllll eternity. As they should.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
