Would you move to an Atheist nation?

RE: Would you move to an Atheist nation?
I just got a flat in an isolated location where noone will bother me unless I wish it.
Why on earth would I give that up?

Imagine if this question were asked to theists.
I wouldn't want my country to impose atheistic beliefs onto it's citizens, imagine if you gave an atheist and a theist a red button which if they press their corresponding country would be a theistic or atheistic country. I'd bet my ass a theist would push that button without a single next thought!

No, I would not wish to live in a nation in which religion was banned any more than I would live in a theocracy. What a terrible idea!

No.

Atheist nation has the same kind of totalitarian ring as christian or muslim has. I'm glad to live in a free nation with mostly secular elements.

I don't really mind religion by itsself. Just keep them from being in power, and harming others with their beliefs. If you want to believe in a god and the afterlife, that's fine. Just don't say I'm immoral because I don't share your beliefs. Or that I should die because I broke some rule in your special book.

I'd be happy to live in a nation where religion happened to have fizzled out and didn't come back. But not if it was done so by force.

The whole cinema debacle shows how laughably desperate the church is getting to keep some sort of grip here in England. Jesus has forgotten how to throw a basic left-right combo, and any jackass can drop him now. The church are trying to raise funds to teach him Karate or something.

No.  Not only do you have freedom of speech and personal freedoms issues, but you would create a separatist country.  You would be cut off from the rest of the world with regard to imports, exports, news, technology - - you name it.  You would be an insular group, and they very rarely last.  Insular groups usually end up dealing with power struggles and rebellion, even from folks who joined willingly.  Once you put restrictive rules in place, you have to enforce them.

All you could ever do in practical terms is ban organised, public religion. (I'm not suggesting this is a good idea.)

You can't stop people coming up with weird religious beliefs unless you start policing their actual minds with scanning technology or something.
