Brain dead = nonfunctional. Zero, zip, zilch, Nada. Re-read my post. Zero quality of life. This has been going on for over two years now with this poor girl. What kind of quality of life do you suppose she has laying there with absolutely ZERO brain activity?

They are not keeping her alive they are just keeping her body from decomposing.

Why not preserve her body though, in case medicine advances and will be able to bring her back in the future?

Because then you have to extend that option to everyone, where will put all of these dead people hooked up to machines and how will we pay for it? Also right now there is no suggestion that once the brain dies that we can bring it back again.
