For example, I just started a religion where the letter "a" is the devil. I'm now mortally offended by it. Everyone has to stop using it.
Reasonable? [Fuck, I offended myself!]
Everything could be considered offensive to someone. As long as it's not being forced in your face, which is of course unreasonable, you don't have to read it. So don't read it if you don't like it. If it's not actively encouraging harm to be committed, then all is cool.

Does "judge not lest ye be judged" not mean what it says?
But I do hold myself to the standard I have accepted and present to the world. Likewise in the 'do unto others' spirit I get to show the hyprocrisy or (hold the mirror up) to the satirist. Because they are not holding themselves up to the standard of 'tolerance' they pretend to be apart of.

no, that is how a mildly amusing cartoon works.
Satire is defined as:
the use of humor, irony, exaggeration, or ridicule to expose and criticize people's stupidity or vices, particularly in the context of contemporary politics and other topical issues
The OP contains the measure of 'satire' in which we are discussing. Which again is relabeled bullying.
Again, bullying to at least some degree is fine with me. Hypocrisy for the satirist should only be a concern if bullying is an unacceptable behavior in your social structure. If it is not, then know I am not speaking to you. I'm speaking to the satire loving d-bag who loves their daily show, but is one who will also jump on the 'it's never ok to bully' bandwagon.

Drich, you've shown that you don't know how basic words work. I'm not particularly likely to be convinced that you have a clue about more sophisticated ones.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist. This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair. Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second. That means there's a situation vacant.'

So...prefuckingcisely what the cartoon is doing, then?

So now the Daily Show is an example of bullying? You must have had a hell of a time in grade school, Drich.

Um actually that is a horrible standard. I do get the intent behind it. But if you like bitching about others that means you bitch about others yourself and that also means they have the right to bitch about you.
The way it was put to me by my friend Bob goes like this "Don't do to others what you would not want done to you".
But in reality not even that is perfect on a planet of 7 billion. So it seems the best we can get, and in the west we do a better job of it, "Say what you want, bitch all you want, but leave it at words. No acts of violence or calls to violence".
Nobody likes their property or person violated. But on a planet of 7 billion we don't like being told what to think or say and we dont always say nice things. So the only pragmatic overlapping civility is secular common law.
