I don't feel mistreated now. But there was times where it was really bad in the past. There are both good women...and man-haters...in the ranks of the Feminist movement;

and likewise,

there are both good men...and misogynists...in the ranks of the MRM.


Yet, unlike you, LemonVariable, I am a female,
and have usually just sucked it up whenever I've encountered chauvinism or misogyny in my life,
BECAUSE I don't like to sound like a victim.

You seemed to fixate on "women on TV" for some reason,
which I only mentioned as a passing example;

and also on domestic abuse,
which I didn't mention at all;

(However:  it is ludicrous to me that you think women are paid equally to men in most professions,
and you claim that fact has been debunked...I don't know what you've been reading,
but it's the opposite of what I've been reading, and the opposite of my experience,
and of the experience reported by many women of my acquaintance).

Overall, I hear you doubling-down and replying with very heated vitriol against feminism,
you seem reluctant to acknowledge ANY validity to that cause or their claims,
indeed, you seem prepared to lay blame on that cause for much harm.

I'm really really regretting that I so carelessly posted and raised so much ire in you,

but I've tried to clarify my statements and take accountability for the faults in them;

I don't think you did anything wrong here, MTL. I wish Lemon could see that feminism is not there to hurt him, but to rather help women and indirectly men as well, especially someone like him and me.

however, as I said, I feel Feminism HAS, sadly, been abused to some degree by man-haters,
and has, sadly, been used to hurt some men, and some women, too.

And even though I am a rape victim, I don't hate men at all.

I don't like it when women hate men simply because they're men,
any more than I like it when men hate women simply because they're women.

But I think that the way Feminism started was as a worthy cause;
everyone deserves equality and respect.

I posed the OP's question to my son, who is on the mild end of the autistic spectrum. For what it's worth, he was indifferent whether it's "autistic" or "person with autism" and said he doesn't consider it definitive of who he is, however it's phrased.

I apologize for getting a little fiery. However most of what you raised as good points of feminism are Tired talking points that have been debunked several times, I even linked an article from time magazine written by a feminist that explains why and how. This has nothing to do with how I see you, I see you the same way I saw you before. But yes I have a poor of modern feminism (third wave), but they have good points IE. Abortion should be legal, access to birth control, breast cancer and ovarian cancer research, breaking down gender roles.
The I have a poor veiw of modern feminism is the repetition of debunked points, and I think we pretty much agree on the rest, though I may add one thing. That is how many femenists with followings avoid debate like its the plague.
