People seemed to manage just fine before Christianity was invented.

They managed more than fine. The assumption of christianity was a retrograde move.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

It would make no difference if we woke up tomorrow and Christianity didn't exist.
But imagining waking up tomorrow and science didn't exist.
No medicine. No Space travel. No electronics. The list goes on and on and on and on..

Science has always existed I would say, in some primitive form, as long as life has been able to think. If no one ever used evidence based reasoning, they wouldn't be able to walk through a door. They'd randomly bang about and try to teleport and stuff, rather than follow the evidence of what has worked before.
Even animals use science-esque (my own silly phrase) tactics. Basically, it is pragmatism above all else. They do what works, or at least they try to, within the confines of their intelligence.
If science-esque techniques didn't exist... well... life wouldn't have got very far.

If Christianity never existed, then we'd never have Korean Jesus and his fucking shredded bod.
For me that makes it aaalllll worth it. The messiah rocks an 18-pack.
In every country and every age, the priest had been hostile to Liberty.

Well the Library of Alexandra wouldn't have been burned and wouldn't have suffered the Dark Ages.
Roman pantheism would probably have been replaced after the fall of the empire by a reassertion of the local deities, Nordic being a strong contender.

Eh, the Christians were the final act for the Library, pagans did a lot of damage first. They did for Hypatia, though, and for some reason that rankles, even though it's been many centuries.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

I actually doubt islam would exist if christianity didn't as islam is heavily based on christianity, and the hindus are notably un-evangelical. Infact most pagan relgions are alot more tolerant then christianity was historically. Also bear in mind, the "they burn babies" was pretty much the go to line for ancient propaganda. So while a few did commit human sacrifice, the vast majority did not. Also on a very interesting note, those that did commit human sacrifice, it was considered an honor and was done by volunteers. These volunteers where then treated as heros. Not pretty, but prettier then the bloody verdict of verdun. Ah, no.
Islam was based on one mans desire to dominate and rule what he understood to be the world. To do this he had to Illegitimize Christianity not base his religion on it. Rather he returned to Judaism and strict pharisaical legalism to drive his religion, not the freedom found in Christianity.
