do you worry about if anything bad would happen if christianity died?

do you worry about if anything bad would happen if christianity died?
i have more reason to hate christianity than most people simply because i was brainwashed at such a young age and it made me feel like everything bad that happened to me in life was my fault and i was a failure, and that caused me emotional suffering that i still deal with today and which is a huge reason why i am agnostic these days cus it makes me feel like all religions are just condescending bullshit.  but at the same time i feel like if christianity was completely gone, then it would be like "every man for himself" and all those christian charities and missions that help people in 3rd world countries and even homeless in the US would be shut down and people would be a lot meaner cus everyone would believe in "survival of the fittest" - so i kinda feel like it's a double edged sword, cus i can't stand condescending and bigoted people, but at the same time not all Christians are like that and a lot of them do actually want to help people and make this world a better place.

and i have been in situations where i was looking at being jailed, but i felt like its because of christianity the judge and social workers had compassion on me, that i was able to turn my life around, otherwise i may be dead today even.

No. It isn't going anywhere but if it did we'd all be fine.

I'm sorry to hear what you have been through Sad

I'm not particularly worried about the effects of Christianity going away. Yes, the system is often rigged in favour of Christians even thought it's not supposed to be, like favourable treatment concerning jail time and such. That crap needs to be wiped right out, I'm hoping it is in the process of getting looked at.

I certainly don't think it would "every man for himself". Not in the slightest. The idea that stability can only come from religion is hopelessly flawed. I don't barely even know any Christians, and all my friends are nice people who look after each other. Our care comes from empathy, not from being ordered around by people in silly hats.

I think secular/atheist communities are actually preferable, because they are less judgemental, both of people in their group and those who chose not to be in it.

The decline in Europe of Christianity has not been accompanied by a general moral decline, and Iceland gets along famously as a nation of 'Somethingists'. People don't need Christianity to be motivated to help other people.
I'm not anti-Christian. I'm anti-stupid.

Jesusism serves roughly the same purpose in society as venereal disease.  It warns humanity that having fun can hurt you.

We get it.  We don't need jesusism any more.

Nope.  I do like Star Wars though.  A little unimpressed by SW VII however.
I was brainwashed into protestant fundamentalism at a young age myself.
I think you're still hanging on to the idea that we need god, and the threat of hell, to be moral.  Recent studies have shown this to be false.
Atheists have been shown to be more empathetic and less judgmental, in general, than religious individuals.

yeah i guess thats true, and technically i think atheist people can prolly understand mental illness more than the type of christians that believe that people feel bad/act weird cus of their sins :S i dont have a problem with people believing in something if it helps them cope with life, the main is the ones that have such a condescending attitudes, like they are naturally douchebags, but then just act like jerks in the name of god.

Christianity may not be dead, but jeez, 40,000 schisms has to have at least put a dent in it.
