Nancy Reagan (Anne Robbins) DEAD at age 94

Nancy Reagan (Anne Robbins) DEAD at age 94
Note: since the Reagans were not shy about pandering to the Moral Majority types, all my comments will be fittingly from a fundamentalist, Biblical inerrancy and literalist perspective.

On the news today, Nancy Reagan (born Anne Robbins, Robbins is her birth daddies last name) has passed away at age 94 from congestive heart failure.  For those of us unsure that she had one, it is confirmation, finally.

Nancy (Anne) was famous for being Ronald Reagan's second wife, following the incomparably classy Jane Wyman.  Ron and Nancy had 2 children, Ron Jr. and Patty.  Ron brought his 2 children from his marriage to Jane, Maureen (deceased) and Micheal and him and Nancy had a blended household.  It's not really a secret Nancy was not happy having 2 reminders of Ron's first marriage underfoot, and they essentially suffered their own version of Mommie Dearest at her icy and unloving hands.

Nancy is also famous for having consorted with an actual witch (Joan Quigley, deceased) for solace and to control events followinr Ron's assassination attempt, and this was DESPITE the availability of comfort and solace from virtually any protestant religious  leader in the country as Ron unashamedly pandered to all stripes of religious conservatives, despite his own obvious ennui with all religions. Nancy, had she been able to discern it, could have sought out a minister from the One True Faith, but instead chose a woman with a familiar spirit, who in an earlier age would have pressed under stones or drowned.  As an actual court astrologer, Joan was given enormous power regarding others access to Ron, and his scheduling, and all of this was accomplished over unsecured phone lines (!!) much to the horror of chief of staff Micheal Deaver, and then his successor, Don Reagan.

Someone dying isn't joke time. Unless one has some serious taste deficits.

I suppose vorlon13's post is what it's like when ones commitment to their politics leaves no room for humanity.

Nancy evinced none during her reign as first lady.

Why the sudden convulsion of hypocrisy ??

Nancy was mean boohoo so I'll dance on her grave waah.

That's what you sound like.

Christians had the dignity to respond with class to Hitchens death. That's a group I don't mind being in power over atheists if your petty childish spitefulness represents atheism in any way.

Christians of the time had the opportunity (LOL, how about the RESPONSIBILITY??) to challenge Nancy (Anne) on her many heresies and instead chose to let her run amok with her Nancy First values.

That they were unwilling to confront the Reagans on their unabashed pandering denied Nancy a chance at Salvation.

That would be a far more productive topic of discussion than the OP.

Nancy can serve in both roles.

Probably a lasting service to the religiousites as a reminder of their failure to effectively Witness His Word to her and her subsequent and resultant damnation. A sad end when those who profess to represent God cave in to popular morality instead of Godly morality.

I have noted Trump being endorsed by Franklin Graham and Pat Robertson recently, I'd say the lasting lesson of Nancy Reagan (and Ron) still hasn't been learned. Corrupt preachers selling out God and Jesus for political ends is a tragedy still being visited upon their perceived Christian nation.
