Like Losty said, individuals are individuals. The thing about women though, nowadays, or about feminist women I should say, is that they do get away with a lot more than men do in that they want to both have the cake and eat it - they expect to be treated as equals, as they should and are - at least by me - in every relevant sense, and at the same time they expect preferential treatment(and the whole society expects that you give it to them as well) and when you don't give it to them you risk people attributing that to sexism or misoginy. It's a very subtle thing, and it's a sort of taboo to talk about as well, especially with the rise of the rage culture that is endangering free speech on so many levels, but that's another topic.
Point being you shouldn't dogmatically think of or treat certain individuals based on what group they represent. That's generally unhelpful and too simplistic for the complex interactions that us humans have with each others.
What do they get away with? Getting cake and eating it too, what does that mean? What preferential treatment do women get?

All men are indoctrinated to give women preferential treatment from birth.
So when you see someone hitting a women back you suddenly think it's misogyny even though it is equality in action.
As of those of you that think women aren't given preferential treatment, you're one deluded hamstring.
Even women know they recieve preferential treatment,although even some of them delude themselves to feel as if they don't.

So from what I gather from pool's post, domestic violence against a woman is acceptable.
Okay. Got it. It's okay to hit a woman because, equality.

Men and women are equal only for very special, restricted definitions of equal.
If men and women were equal, men would nurse infants and women would be more desperate to pick up men in bars.
In my worldview, and oddly enough, men and women are most interested in the same thing: to get our genes into the future as the next generation. Men will say and do anything to make this happen, including admitting that they will say and do anything to make this happen. Each existing persons father was successful in this quest. Unsuccessful fathers are not represented.
Sex is simply the doorway through which humans must pass in order to reach the future. Women have better means of selling access to that doorway. They'd be fools (pragmatically speaking) not to demand as much as they could for that ultimately valuable access.
They are the center of a universe albeit a very small one.
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat?

Wow, I sure failed in the above scenario. I willingly had my reproductive ability surgically taken away, before having any children.

I think I have very good reasons for not wanting to spawn anything, many of which are directly related to the wellbeing of society in general. I hope that in my brief time I leave something of a positive message which will live on, even though my genes won't.
