Dr. Craig is a liar.

Sorry I blew up the thread! I'm always late to the party. This time it was Mafia.

Much of your objection to my statement seems to come from your belief that the B Theory of Time is correct. Let me study this an I will attempt a reply in your Timeless thread.
Steve, no. I think you are addressing the wrong thing again. Your contradictions have nothing the do with the A or B Theory of time since the universe began. They have to do with how you imagine a timeless, unchanging entity could do anything before the creation of the universe. Here are your words...

Which directly contradicts...

Contradiction: You cannot have "a series of mental events" and also assert, "there was no stream of consciousness or successive chains of thoughts."
Contradiction: You cannot "form a before and after (therefore some measure of "time")" in a truly timeless state. Timeless, by definition, would have no "before and after."
Again, because I have to state this emphatically so you don't go off trying to slay straw men, I am ONLY talking about what your timeless God supposedly did before the creation of the universe... not your God's imagined relationship to time after the creation.
Yeah, this is exactly what I'm having trouble with as well. How is his mindless, thoughtless God able to perform any action at all whilst timeless? What does it even mean to exist timelessly without any consciousness? I'd call that dead...

I relistened to that debate today; Craig was definitively out of his league.
Notice how Steve is ignoring my posts; perhaps someone else can answer for him.

And by his example, he is living proof that how we treat theists here has a lot to do with how they treat us.
Thanks, Steve II.
I have given up trying to debate him, but I do agree he's a lot more civil and thoughtful than most theists we get through here.

You are asking the same thing as "can God make a rock so big that he can't pick it up". No, God cannot do logically impossible things like count all the natural numbers.

What prevents god from doing so? What constrains god within those logical boundaries, if god is so constrained? Perhaps you could elaborate upon this force or power that surrounds and limits your god? That, whatever it is, sounds considerably more interesting and informative than this middle-manning "god" business, to me.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

You say that like it's not a relevant and legitimate question about what you are asserting. Why? Why should an all powerful God be bound by the laws of logic? Did he create them in such a way that he was subsequently constrained by them? You don't get to escape Jehanne's point by saying, "oh, well it's just one of those kinds of questions."

If that's the case, then God cannot have created anything out of nothing ... or timelessly created ... or anything of the sort ...
