I know what you mean about your doctor refusing to prescribe. I have chronic pain and can't get a pain Rx to save my life. Fucking DEA has all the docs scared.
Than pain shit can get rough but I think my pain management doc likes me better than your doctor because I do take a lot more pain meds than most people. I also could use about double the amount that I take if I wanted to actually be pain free.
I haven't been able to get a pain Rx since January of 2012. I envy you.

It's all new for me. Everyone tells me it won't last. Which is pretty fucking terrifying considering the pain only seems to get worse.

Yeah, it is.
I don't know if it's so much the pain getting worse, or tolerance of pain going down. But yeah, I'm with you on that.

Benadryl and dramamine have the same active ingredient. Check price per mg and get which ever is cheaper.
Either is very safe, even at high dosages, and just 2 or 3 dramamine would knock me out. In my days before 12 Steppers, that was the safest and least side effecty thing I took. And note, regardless of what else I was abusing, the dramamine always put me to sleep.
That naughty naughty kiddie day care in Council Bluffs IA several years ago was using the same thing to knock out the kiddlings as soon as their parents dropped them off. Made it so much easier for the staff if the kids just slept all day !!! Pills wore off to no effect about the time the parents came back for them. If the kids hadn't been bouncing off the walls all night, the day care would have never been busted.
I'll admit to calming down one of my parents a few times that way. Then I asked the Dr. nicely for a script for xanax (not for me, silly!) and took care of that problem with anxiety once and for all. And seriously, I don't think the xanax was half as good . . . .
The granting of a pardon is an imputation of guilt, and the acceptance a confession of it.

Sorry to hear you can't sleep It's a problem I've struggled with too, though not to the same awful degree you are suffering.
My advice would be to wind down before bed time. For an hour or two before you're due to turn in, don't do any stimulating activity, like using electronic devices. (OK that all came out wrong... )
You know what I mean, you dirty bastards! iPads, TVs, phones, computers, etc. Put it all away and let your brain detach. Just sit and relax, if possible.
I hope you can find something that helps So sorry to hear you suffer with so many health problems, it's not fair on such a lovely person

Yep. Benadryl, even just one, was just the thing back when I was using cocaine daily. (Kids, dont do that.)

There's a lot of research out there that says it's the pain pills being a disastrously poor long term pain management tool.

Patients develop a tolerance and need more and more of an incredibly addictive substance, and if they ever come off, most patients report an increase in base level pain. Losty, I'd imagine your sleep issues are a direct result of these pain pills, I'd talk to your doctor.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

I was speaking more to my experience with opiate free pain management, but yeah there's that.
