I wish you could feel your favorite emotion towards me, if it made you happy! Smile -- within reason Tongue

I think that feeling's hard to beat and closest perhaps to excitement or curiosity on that list.

Beautiful post: And if you add all those feelings together (apart from the narrowing down part, all the positive ones I mean) you describe exactly how I am feeling today, funnily enough.

Love, potential, excitement, curiousity.... actually, this, this is how I'm feeling today:

And actually I'll add to that list: feeling the direct opposite of spite, too, and feeling like I'm seeing the good in absolutely everyone.

Good for you Evie, I'm glad you're feeling so wonderful Smile I wish I had some of that; I'm neither in love nor seeing much of that potential in my world at the moment but I can but hope for a return of those feelings Smile Hope's another one... life without hope is not worth living.

I lost hope once. It was still worth living because unbeknownst to me at the time my hope was always inevitably going to return Smile

It's a difficult choice. Emotions are amazing. I think many people don't appreciate them. I was raised not be emotional. Silently contented was my parents' emotion of choice for their girls. Crying was often punished, anger was always punished, excessive happiness was frowned upon and also punish if it included any loud noises (like too much laughing, jumping up and down with Eee). For a long time I struggled to express emotions and for a period...when my emotional health hit rock bottom, I couldn't feel emotions at all. I always refer to that time as when I didn't exist. If you've ever felt such a complete lack of emotion...it's kind of awful.

I like being a bit angry when it's justified. Especially if it means I'm brave enough to stand up for myself. I like being so happy that I can't control the noises that come out of my mouth. I like allowing myself to be completely crushed with sadness, especially because it makes the sadness last a much shorter period of time when you let yourself feel it. Obviously love. Love is a blissful feeling. I don't think it can be so simple as to be called an emotion though, love tends to come with a healthy dose of every emotion.

I think misery is my favorite I don't actually enjoy feeling it but it brings out my creative side. I do my best writing when I let myself drown in my own darkness. The only bad thing is, it can be hard to pull yourself free if you're not careful.

It's really not that hard, but if you'd like some help I can walk you through it.

EP, if you don't want to read my big blocks of text I suggest you just scroll past my posts. That's my advice.

A well kept secret that most people don't know, human beings come with a built in ignore feature that no amount of forum software can block Tongue

Also, @OP I appreciate the poll, but I am unable to participate due to lack of "fuck all polls" option.

Anger can give you a feeling of power. But that feeling of power only feels good because you need it to replace something.
Anger hurts you mentally and physically. All negative feelings do.
That's my opinion.

You are a truly beautiful person Losty. What a fantastically emotional post on emotions.

Very true, never thought of it that way before neither Big Grin

Losty Wrote:I always refer to that time as when I didn't exist. If you've ever felt such a complete lack of emotion...it's kind of awful.

And believeeeeeee me, I know what that feels like. Or rather, I know what it feels like to feel nothing but a lack and a starvation of emotion, and to be consumed by the loathing of my own inability to feel anything else -- far worse than any despair or desperation I've felt, it's living hell.

And now, to end on a positive note, that's the direct opposite of this:

Losty Wrote:Obviously love. Love is a blissful feeling. I don't think it can be so simple as to be called an emotion though, love tends to come with a healthy dose of every emotion.

It's expansive. It's inspiring. It's empowering. It's enhancing. It indeed is healthy and it opens you up. It's life-affirming. It's wonderful and it's beautiful.

I think negative feelings are quite healthy as long as you don't dwell on them.

I doubt many people, or even any people, will press play on it or have the patience or desire to listen to it all, but there it is nevertheless. I like that song. I feel no desire to be anything other than irrepressible today, everything just feels so easy: I just want to share myself with everyone. I feel... open-ended. I have no qualms or anxieties about coming across as odd, either. I'm just me. If no one knows what I'm talking about, that's okay. I can talk their language too (provided it's English, lulz) But here's mine.

Apparently there are many studies to prove some sought of link between the mental and physical.
Healthy mind, healthy body. Psychosomatic.
And it goes both ways.
Eg. Am I really feeling sad or do I just have a bad dietary intake and don't exercise enough?
It makes sense to me but I could be wrong of course. :-)
