Most personally convincing reasons you don't believe.
RE: Most personally convincing reasons you don't believe.
I don't believe in the Abrahamic God for the same reason I don't believe in mythological gods. I don't need personally convincing reasons for why Zeus and Thor and Ra are a load of nonsense and I don't for the Abrahamic God either.

It's kind of hilarious really, when you open Genesis and see a talking snake and a load of nonsensical ramblings and contradictions, how you see the stories in the Bible are just as silly as the mythological stories... and then you look at the date and see it's the 4th of July 2016 and people still believe this ridiculous shit and not only that, the majority of the world believe silly shit that makes no more sense than mythology.

It just goes to show how fucking powerful indoctrination is

If someone weren't indoctrinated they certainly wouldn't start believing in mythological gods... and if they weren't indoctrinated and they become religious anyway it's surely because they mistakenly think that religions have some merit merely because so many people believe it.

Huge amounts of people in the world believe because they are indoctrinated, and then those who don't believe due to indoctrination believe because they mistakenly give credit to religion, credit it only receives because so many people around the world are indoctrinated by it and make up bullshit arguments and reasons and anecdotes to support this shit.

If the dominant religion was a mythological one such as belief in Zeus.... there would be silly arguments and websites and fallacies and anecdotes given to support Zeus. There would be huge amounts of credit given to belief in Zeus and there would be money given to Churches of Zeus. The vast majority of the people who believed in the dominant religion of Zeusism would believe because they had been indoctrinated and the rest would believe because they would mistakenly give credit to the religion of Zeusism, credit Zeusism would only receive because so many people around the world were indoctrinated by Zeusism and make up bullshit arguments reasons and anecdotes to support the shit

TL;DR: Regardless of how silly a belief is... almost always people believe ridiculous things due to indoctrination.... when it isn't due to that it is because the silly belief is so popular around the world due to indoctrination and some people think that the huge amount of believers counts as evidence. It doesn't. It counts as evidence of millions of people being indoctrinated by bullshit.

"Here's a story book."

"OK."

"This book depicts actual events."

"No, it doesn't. Not the obviously made up bits, anyway."

"Can you prove it doesn't?"

"I don't need or want to disprove fantastical elaborate conspiratorial unfalsifiable assumptions."

"But can you prove it doesn't?"

"No."

"See?"

"No. All I see is you making wild claims about an arbitrary story book. Do the same thing with another book."

"No."

"Why not?"

"Because the other books are fiction."

"Can you prove they are fiction?"

"...."

"There must be some truth in Christianity and Islam otherwise so many people wouldn't believe in it."

"The vast majority of believers in those religions only believe because they were indoctrinated."

"But I don't believe for that reason."

"You're missing the point. You believe because many others believe. And almost all of them only believe because they were indoctrinated."

"Religions exist for a reason. God obviously wants them to exist."

"You're so annoying."

"Just because Mr.atheist's argument failed?"

"It didn't fail."

"You said many people believe because they were indoctrinated. I said I wasn't indoctrinated. You said that just because I give credit to religions because of the MILLIONS UPON MILLIONS of believers means I only believe because people were indoctrinated."

"You don't get it."

"Futhermore I never actually agreed that most believers are indoctrinated. I believe it's less than 10%. I never actually agreed. Silly atheist. I used to be an atheist but back then I was an idiot. I am not retarded enough to be an atheist."

"Goodbye."

RE: Most personally convincing reasons you don't believe.
well, it's rather simple: I have looked for decades to find evidence for the religion that I grew up in, and gave the benefit of the doubt, but I found out that there was no evidence. I knew that I needed evidence to support my faith (I don't get why so many people say that belief does not require proof), so seeing that every place that I hoped to find evidence offered none at all, and seeing that there were a lot of people who benefited from fooling other people, I knew this was just a giant lie and I had to leave. The last confirmation came when I asked all my christian friends, one by one, when I told them that I left religion, "do you have any evidence for your religion? any good arguments? if you have any, I am all ear". I was sincere in this question, and no one could answer me. They are all intelligent people (with MScs and PhDs) who are very enthusiastic about their faith, so one would expect them to have anything to say, but they offered zero answers. I asked this question to dozens of people, without response. That gave me a lot of confidence to continue on my way out.
