Orlando shooting/The non gun debate

RE: Orlando shooting/The non gun debate
again today was like the 4th time I heard this man given the mic to say what he will about the situation. Not once did he denounce the shooter, the shooters jihad, nor the actual act. He spoke in very general terms when he was not playing the victim card

There is a thing called the black market and of course you could ban guns someone is always going to find a way to get them.
I am saying is we need better regulation here state side to prevent people that can and could cause harm to others preventing them
from getting guns. I am in favor of the 2nd amendment you can have a assault style rifle and 30+ round magazine if.. get this if..
you are responsible and not i repeat not a danger to society.

Retard, what I am saying is this is not a gun debate thread. we already have one of those. I want to talk about the political and religious side of things here not a gun ban, Why? because again we already have a very popular thread/debate going on concerning this shooting already

So you're wondering why one muslim...not moderate muslims in the general...don't denounce a particular event?

Maybe you'd get farther with that by asking that particular person.  He obviously has your ear, you've listened four times.  He never does a q/a? When you say he "spoke in general terms"...does that actually mean that he -did- denounce event x...but not strenuously enough for you?

Anyways, I mostly try not to think emotionally about any of this stuff. A news story has to be a news story to me. There's too much awful I just can't handle it emotionally to allow myself to really think about it.

I was 26 or 27 and I felt a real sense of community a pulling together of people who didn't know what to do but wanted to help each other. Here... It feels like a political statement. these people died so some douche bags can feel justified in pushing legislation that been sitting on for months or years... These monsters did not even let the bodies cool before they started in with their agenda. which makes all of the solidarity seem fake or even hypocritical. What's worse are the victims themselves using this opportunity to show case/push their talents and share their dreams of fame and or music career ambitions... They do this at the expense of their dead friends...

I'm tired of hearing that we cannot fix it.  Of course we CANNOT fix it if we don't try, or believe we can, and it seems the majority of people have already just given up or given in. Sad

Don't get me wrong I really feel bad for the people and those they leave behind, what i feel disconnected from is this false sense of care and concern people have when again the bodies were not even identified yet and people were using this shooting to push their agendas

This is what absolutly KILLS Me!!

All this rhetoric about how gay people are oppressed or how Gay people were specifically targeted by the LGBT community leaders and the shooter was GAY!

There's less meat to go around, so the vultures come more quickly to the kills. Opportunists are getting more desperate than ever.

Right over your head, as usual, Drich.

I know what most of you would say, but after 9/11 I did feel the impact of those events. even the Oklahoma city bombing felt different. This happened less than 10 mins from my church and honestly it feels like another news story. I am not suprise at the reaction or scale of reaction from the surrounding communities and the well wishing across the world, but again it's what you kinda expect from a 'news story of this type and scale.

And, before the haters say that I was rooting for the shooter or I think those people got what they deserve, I don't. It is a really bad thing for any one to shoot up a crowd of people period.

I'm not the only one here who thinks this way. Most people I've spoken who live here, have a similar view, in that it was a terrible thing, but like me tend to see this as another news story. I've even asked others what it had been disney or one of the other parks, and the reaction does indeed change at the thought of little children being caught in the cross fire, but this is all very different. Maybe it is because of the speed and willingness the news and politicians are willing to use this event to cash in or spread their views. (Like how quickly the other orlando thread turned into a gun debate) Idk..

So Im posting this to see what you all honestly feel. is this just another news item tailor made for the up comming election or is there/should their be a 9-11 feel to this?

Fine no guns. Dripshit I wouldn't be suprised if there is a christard forum somewhere where you are currently jumping up and down in glee proclaiming that the victims got what they deserved. You're too big on the judgemental sectarianism of the bible for this to be unlikely.
I don't hate gay people, and if you remember I clearly state that homosexuality is the same as any other sexual sin. What I dislike is 49 people died so the LGBT community can have a larger voice, that the leadership can push their political agendas by playing the victim card.

when clearly the shooter claim to be doing this to punish the west for attacking his "homeland."

To me this seems as just as underhanded as any other ISIS propaganda that inspires such attacks, because in the end they are using the dead to underscore and cement their political views.
