Losty,

It may be thought that what I put was part of the story of Jesus regardless of who believes or not.

Do you think in the story Jesus didn't choose to die ?

I guess I think if I was there I'd have saved him even if he didn't want to be saved. I guess it's because my personal moral compass does not allow for someone to be murdered just because they think they'll live forever.

I'd have to ask the author, but he died many years after he/she made up the tale .... But maybe asking why "God had forsaken" him appears that according to the plot the Jesus Character thought, "Oh shit I wasn't expecting this"
....

madog,

You might consider that in the story God the Father let him die so he could live forever and that sometimes people speaking aloud questions doesn't mean they don't know the answer and aren't asking aloud for sake of others.

Imagine you travel back in time, and have the opportunity to save Jesus from being humiliated, tortured horribly, dying a slow painful death, having his body desecrated by the Roman guards, etc.

There is no question that your attempt would be successful.

Would you?

Here the atheist go again assuming they can do something like go back in time. That's one reason I find most unreliable in what they say, they want to pretend instead of dealing with the facts, this pretending stuff sounds most illogical. Those who answered they would do something are just spouting off like their something, you would have coward at the knees of the Romans like everyone else except Jesus. He accepted the Father's plan and carried it to the very end and beginning.

And that is so unlike you using zombies as examples .... explain how?

It'll make a great movie.  If you could save Jesus from that it would mean that he wasn't who he claimed to be.  Therefore the story would have never become part of history, making Jesus a non-existent character so there would be no reason for you to have gone back in time.  Consequently you would have never thought about it and no one else would be concerned about it.

Losty,

Do you think the Allied soldiers were wrong who choose to fight the Germans and were murdered and thought of as heroes ?

Losty

Isn't the story that Jesus rose from the dead to live forever ?

You'e not answering the question.

It is very simple.

You are there at the time that Jesus is about to be crucified, and you have a chance of saving him.

Would you stand by and watch him be horribly tortured, or save him?

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

No, but had I been there I'd have tried to stop the Germans from murdering them.

Okay. So there is no time travel involved.

It's a f'n thought experiment.

Are you that unable to imagine the scenario?
