Nope....witnesses say he was looking down while he fired his handmade gun. That's clear presence of mind. Fit for trial.

He can be anything from deranged to rightwing shit. Something ticked him off, unless he's really only a nutter shooting the first public figure he could aim at.

The unconfirmed report is that he yelled "Britain First," which is both a PRO-Brexit (edited for error) slogan and the name of a small very-right-wing political group. I don't think it's irresponsible to reproduce this here, inasmuch as reputable news agencies are noting both that there are reports of this and that it remains unconfirmed. For what it's worth, the political group has released a statement noting that it's not certain he did yell that, and completely disclaiming the attack and the fellow.
