I lost interest when I heard they were building a boat themed parking garage.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

I think Ricky Gervais' stand up highlights the absurdity of it pretty well

*helpless* lololololol

" I can't forget, I'm a fucking elephant "

hilarious

I remember being young, in Sunday School, and puzzling over the logistics of Noah's Ark, too.

The thought of a lone pair of male and female mosquitoes in the ark was bizarre:

One day the female mosquito lands on Noah's arm and he absentmindedly swats her, then he's like " Oops. "

Watch the EEOC get involved in this. The first sign of an applicant being denied a job because of sexual orientation or religion should file a law suit for discrimination. I think every atheist in the state should also apply for a job there so they can get hired on and then fired for refusing to sign the ridiculous "Faith Statement".

Of course, if KY is an "at will" employment state, none of this will mean anything. I can't wait to start seeing the lawsuits come about because of this nonsense.

KY might surprise you, they already denied them state funding and laughed at their countersuit - against the state- for having denied them the funds to build their little toy due to their open admission that they did not intend to comply with state employment laws and near inexplicable decision to incorporate as a for-profit.

Then how did they manage to get funding through the tax payers?

They managed to get tax breaks, through appeals, after an election went their way. Initially, Ham and his buddies wanted us to build the park for them, too.

If you're referring to the funding the -city- of Williamsburg foolishly decided to give them...remember that this theme park effectively -is- the city of Williamsburg. 5k people live there........they can't be blamed for dreaming big. Gonna suck when they have to foot the bill, but ah well, it was their call.

Thanks for clarifying for me. I honestly can't see this going well at all for this theme park. Someone's gonna find a loophole somewhere and sue them. I can see it happening.

Here's some more clarification.....might explain the whole thing to you...as far as Williamsburg and TIF funds are concerned, anyway. They gave Ham and his pals 2/3rds of the capital required to start the park....because it;s not as if they were going to pay for it themselves, they know better, after the creation museum failure (it's now a zipline park........lol).
Quote:As of the 2000 census Whitley County, Kentucky of which Williamsburg is the county seat consisted of 22,645 Evangelical Christians, 1,741 Mainline Christians, 130 Catholics, and 11,394 individuals who are not members of the 188 groups included in the Churches & Church Membership Data. As of the same date 69.4% of individuals in Whitley County were members of the Southern Baptist Convention.[12] Williamsburg boasts 21 religious institutions or one religious institution per 243 citizens, and as of the year 2000 the region that contains the town has been designated the second densest region of the bible belt.[13] , located in the town is a private Christian college affiliated with theKentucky Baptist Convention, a member of the Southern Baptist Convention.
