What are you praising if they had no choice in the matter?
What are you actually respecting?
How can I without free will? I can't help it, it just happens ;-)
I respect awesomeness. Respect is the appreciation of awesomeness.
Dude when you like music it's not an act of free will, correct? You are respecting the people who have managed to do something amazing or something you enjoy / appreciate. Simple.
I believe the taste we acquire for music does involve free-will as does falling in love with a person. It's not that it's totally us deciding but neither is it without a free-will on our part.
So there is no such thing as objective merit type value, but there is an objective awesomeness to people you can't help but respect. Ok, define what awesomeness is. Why not include merit type value in that definition?

It's linked with God and hence can be used to prove God.

Awesomeness is subjective
What's your point?

You can know a lot of things and there is explanations on how we know these things. But I was talking about value and God, they are linked and intertwined. However, I asked about free-will, because that is what praise in humans mainly. That is the merit value of respect and honor we give them with regards to. So it had to do with denying value.

You know those people who say there's no such thing as a stupid question? They're wrong.
Just make your point already.

I think some people find life/reality dull, meaningless, or too complicated, and have to plaster magic stuff all over it. Or maybe to make themselves feel special.
I can understand this desire, I just don't feel it myself.
